Jordan Wynn
New QB listed on CR. Looks like more of the kids at this stage are pro-style quarterbacks.

Re: Jordan Wynn
The wierd thing is I thought we were running the spead offense. Spread offense QB's are not pro style QB's. Thus I don't understand. Maybe the coaches know something I don't. Just kidding about that last statement.

The first real QB signing in the Chizik Era is Jerome Tiller who is anything but a Pro Style QB.

Re: Jordan Wynn
Looks like a solid prospect.

What kind of offense does the New England Patriots run?
Spread option maybe is what you're thinking

Re: Jordan Wynn
Actually the majority of the 2009 QB prospects that CR has listed are pro style QB's, which kind of intrigues me after the signings of Bates and Tiller.

Re: Jordan Wynn
Our spread is nothing like a what a Rich Rodriguez runs. I would call what we run more traditional power football with a few wrinkles.
-
Re: Jordan Wynn
If we try and run a straight offense our chances at success are not very good. It's hard to compete with teams that have way more talent with the same offense everyone else runs. I would rather have the option spread with some wrinkles and less traditional power football.

Re: Jordan Wynn
We don't need a QB in this class, IMO. We need to focus on DEFENSE for this recruiting class. Defense Defense, Defense is what Chizik need to focus on. Oh and maybe a little O-line .

Gene replied that the number one thing above all others that he and staff look for in a quarterback is the ability to get out of trouble in the backfield . . . instincts, quick feet and mobility, then.
I gotta think, then, that the guys who have offers for 2009 have demonstrated a knack for this ability.
I don't know nothin' other than what Gene has said about the subject.

I don't know nothin' other than what Gene has said about the subject. Good post. Even at 4.7 40 dash, your right around what Meyer was at. I think too many jump to the 4.5 type guys when thinking spreak.
ISU needs a guy who can pass, but be able to be moble enough to move to create a throw on the run.
