Chizik on Cotler ~ 8:42 am

Cotler is supposed to have Coach Chizik on the air this morning when he returns from commercial - guess it will be around 8:42 or so.

I don't think I could restrain myself from punching Cotlar during an interview, if I were ever in a position to be interviewed by him. The single thing I cannot stand the most, is people who prevaricate and refuse to take a stand on an issue. Cotlar doesn't take a stand on ANY issue. Could you imagine being behind the "Cot-man" in a buffet line???

2 hours later, he is still trying to make up his mind what to take....

Most of the interview was about the MVC conference and how Josh Young was a great kid to build a team around next year.....

Basically, he just asked him about the team, nothing really new from what I heard. A lot of conversation about Arnaud/Bates, generally Chizik feels like practices are "light years" beyond where they were last year at this time. Let me know if I missed something more interesting.

That surprises me that Cotlar didn't get anything out of an interview. Or not.

It's maddening to listen to Cotlar. I don't know which is worse, when he interviews someone without listening to what they say, or his "witty banter" with the rest of the company. They must think that banter is great because they always use it for promos for the show, it's embarrassing to listen to. I'm also a huge fan of the times that that he records the interviews days before because he doesn't talk about events that have happened within the last day or two. Or when they air interviews that are completely dated because the story has changed since the interview.

Or all the questions that he has to ask Jeff that show he really isn't
paying attention to sports happenings, or doesn't at least read Sportsline or something to prepare for the show. He seems unfamiliar with much of the sports world.

I have not heard Cotlar since ESPN radio came to town. The only time my radio sees 1460 anymore is to occasionally listen to Jim Rome.

Believe it or not, he did start the interview with Van Coleman about Cory Johnson transferring... then he IMMEDIATELY asked if Drake would be an option for him and never brought up ISU again while discussing the other three in state schools for a while. Thanks for that one Larry.
