Two years ago I was able to increase my donation to $250. I'm unable to up my contribution to $500 this year so I dropped my tickets. Am I the only one being priced out of this market?
I'm a little concerned that Jamie does not know his customer base. I was a loyal fan for over 30 years; throw me under the bus because I can't double my donation in 2008?
Section 12 will be empty most of this season; Nebraska fans will fill it October 18th and I doubt they donate anything to the NCC!
Thank you Jamie

Thank you Jamie Hopefully you're the exception and not the rule otherwise we can resign ourselves to being regular cellar dwellers in the Big 12. Will that make you happier that you can afford to sit and watch teams with 2 or 3 wins year after year?
The year is 2008, not 1988. If you want ISU to be competative, you have to buck up.

Why not stay at $250, move over 1 section, and still enjoy Cyclone Football?

A lot of things have changed over the last 30 years. Gas use to be what .30 cents a gallon and now its 3.25...gallon of milk use to be super cheap and now its 3-4 dollars now. Things have become increasingly expensive

At 4% inflation per year for 30 years, $100 then would be just over $324 now. Even at 3%, you're still looking at just under $243.

Money is not everything, it is about the coaches and the players playing the way the coach wants them to play. Rutgers, South Florida and K-State do not have a lot of money and they have been alright in football.
The donation and ticket prices are not usually the problem, it is the the shelling out of anywhere from $50 - $1000 per home game depending on where you live and how far you have to travel.
Remember, not everyone makes $100,000+ per household.

I know other people are upset too and some have not renewed. Its a hard spot for JP to be in. He has to get revenue up by getting more donations and selling more tickets to a team that has a lot to prove and really has done nothing to excite the fan base over the last few years. It still is fairly cheap entertainment. When you compair ISU's donations for seats to other schools I bet ISU's is still low for the same seat. There are other seats in the stadium that you can get cheeper. I would hate for you to lose your place on the points ladder just as GC is getting things turned around.

I know in the earily 90s KSU got a big donation from a fan that helped redo a lot of their athletic facalities. I bet Rutgers has some well to do alum. Not sure about S Florida but there is a lot more talent in Florida than Iowa and it is eaiser to get players to stay there or get them to go there.

I just can't help at that level. I wished he had gone after the 70,000 alumni that give nothing.

Difficult to compete in Big 12 with the smallest sports budget. The farmers of western Nebraska must have some real coin for what they pay to keep seats in Lincoln.

Some people have other things that are more of a priority; telling someone to "buck up" is not the way to go about this.
I haven't renewed my tickets yet, but they are only Hillside, so nbd.

What is the name of that practice facility next to JTS? Gosh, I think it won the top indoor facility in the country a couple of years ago.
How many times has ISU played Oklahoma in the last 20 years, 15? ISU is 0 fer vs. OU. Boise St. has played OU 1 in that time and is 1-0 against them. This is all about players and coaches. Yes each school needs cash but I think everyone gets way too caught up in the money excuse as it has become an accepted excuse across the country. Each coach will say they do not have enough money for their program. They can always use more 52" tv's for watching tape and to have in the weight rooms. If players do not like/respect the coaches you will have what is happening in Iowa City. BTW, doesn't EIU have the third highest athletic budget in the big 10?

I guess some folks will never really understand what it takes to run a college athletic program. Same people want $1 gas, 50 cent pops, and $10 per game football tickets.
I guess I dont understand why people need to complain about not being able to afford a higher donation. If you cant put up more money, dont make it our/ ISU's problem. Just except what you are willing to pay for and move on.
But trying to say that ISU should not try to better its financial state and continue charging next to nothing for football is crazy.
