2008 Big XII flop?

Who's it gonna be this year? Nebraska last year, us the year before. It seems to happen every year, so I was just wondering who you guys thought it might be?

I'm going with Kansas. I know they didn't lose a lot in terms of numbers, but they lost a lot of talent. I remember how much our D was depleted after losing Hobbs, and Kansas will feel the pains of losing Talib and Collins. Add that to a much tougher schedule They are still bowl bound though, IMO

Also, I see us and Colorado being the "Kansas and Missouri" the next couple years.

Don't we go back to the tough schedule in the 09-10 season? If so that will be pretty tough to be the Kansas and Missouri

No we don't get Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech back on the schedule until the 10-11 season.

I actually think Colorado has overhyped its expectations for this season.

Agree about Colorado. I honestly don't think Hawkins' kid is that good of a QB. Plus, they have an absolutely brutal schedule which could really sap their confidence.

I agree. I think it all depends if their new all world runningback, Darrell Scott, is ready for Big 12 competition.

I think it is Kansas that flops. It appeared they just got hot with a VERY weak schedule. I don't see it happening again...

Im going to go with Texas Tech. Big expectations, high powered O, still no D.

I'm kind of a big deal!

I think and hope that it is Kansas.

This is the sarcasm pirate. If you see him anywhere in my post, it means I was being sarcastic. Thank you. Actually there's a good chance I'm being sarcastic even if I forgot the pirate. I'm not to be taken too seriously.

That is kinda what I was thinking until they beat down Va Tech, who was hot at the end of the season. But I would agree they will fall the most just based on the schedule they have this year.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

Re: 2008 Big XII flop?

It was easy for me to single out a team that would flop last season (which was K-State), but I'm not so sure about this year if any team is "due" for a flop. The Big XII should be pretty strong this year.

The cold, arctic winds have descended upon Ames, Iowa. With winter's arrival, one season ends...
.... so that another can begin.

From within the concrete walls of Hilton Coliseum, a ceremony takes place where
a synergy between its players, fans, and coaches inspires greatness... success...

... Magic.

Kansas '07 was what Iowa State '05 should have been.

Same south conference rotation, just some different sites.

Except their offense was light years better than ours.

ISU didn't even need that good of an offense -- just a slightly better one -- and a slightly better defense. 2OT loss (7), OT loss (3), OT loss (3), regulation loss (10). That's how far it was from an 11-0 season.
