Re: Post here if you upped your donation or bought more tickets this year

Upped both. Bought 2 extra season tickets. Sold Nebraska game already and pretty much paid for one of the tickets. I will bring different people to games for the remainers and try to find some new season ticket holder for next year.

Moved up from Gold to Captains

I've avoided posting in the "section 12" threads, but here's my 2 cents. I have sat in section 12 for about 7 years, and I am in a group of 12 that donates from $1K-2.5K per family (3 families) We have tried moving up every year but have been consistently been told there are no better seats available.

I am happy the stadium was reseated, because we should be in line to get better seats. I feel bad for people who aren't able to increase their donations, but they DO HAVE OPTIONS.

Do we want to win? I know I do, and I am willing to take a leap of faith that this is the way to do it.

Mind the gap!

Doubled my donation to $500 and kept my 3 tickets in good old section 12. I'm hoping the guy in the other thread is right and section 12 has a few less people. With my 2 Little Clone Clubbers it gets kind of tight.

donated for the first time. stayed at two tickets.

in the future i do not know if I will just stay at two tix or increase. that kinda depends on demand/growth of family/friends who want to go in on season tix i suppose.

I DO know for sure I will have season tickets until I die. And I also know I will NEVER donate less that the previous year. I donated for the first time this year and plan on staying at the same level AT THE VERY LEAST or going up in donation levels.

I know if I didn't throw my money at Iowa State, I'd prolly waste it somewhere worse or on something much more stupid. Long live diehard Cyclones!!!

I was seated on the 45 yard line last year in section #8 and had no business being there. I'm not going to complain when I get reseated where I belong. There is not a bad seat in JTS and I could care less if I get moved down a couple of sections (where I belong anyway). Sure... I loved being on the 45 but I know there are Cyclone Club members that donate a lot more than me and they should be in section 8 and not me. Go Cyclones... It's going to be a great year.
OMG, someone with sense

Same donation, same number of tickets (and I feel pretty lucky where my tickets are for my donation) added a Li'l Cyclone club ticket (2 now). Also bought the great seat cushion/backs. Keeps people from infringing on my territory even though I rarely sit down.

There is no such thing as a meaningless donation. As with everything in life, if more people give just a little, we can accomplish a lot.

Pollard's statement is something along the lines of 1 in 10 alumni, giving $100 each = $30 million that can be financed. That's a bowled-in endzone or a basketball facility.

Went from 100 to 250 this year, and I'm not from Iowa. Still have two tickets, but looking forward to bringing kids someday.

I'm a farmer alumni, and in the past I always figured that we couldn't make it to enough games to make it worthwhile(also always broke). This year I decided to throw down for 2 tickets and donated $300 to Cyclone Club for the first time. So look out for the rookie farmer tailgater-I've got to make up for the last 25 years that I missed out on.

Re: Post here if you upped your donation or bought more tickets this year

I upped from $500 to $2500 keeping my 3 football tickets. Plan to up men's basketball from 2 to 4.

In my opinion, reindexing of seats is absolutely the right thing to do and is long overdue. This is a major way to increase money desperately needed for the success of our programs. In the mid-90's, I upped my donation from $250 to $1500 and requested improved seating in men's basketball. When I recevied my season tickets, I actually moved from row 13 in the balcony to row 11 in the balcony. After my wife and I personally met with then AD Gene Smith and Peter Taylor, they explained that there were no seats open in the $1500 club and the policy was not to move anyone if they're giving at the level of their seats so there were no open seats in the $1000 section either. So the seats I was assigned were in the back of the $500 club. I pleaded with Gene to establish a reindexing plan to incent people to give more money in exchange for improved seating and his response, which I'll never forget, was "I'm not willing to take that bullet". He didn't want to upset the long-time givers that might have to pay more money or move seats. So kudos to Jamie Pollard for "taking that bullet" and doing what's right for Iowa State. In my opinion, this needs to be done on a regular...probably every 3 year...basis. If this thread is indicative at all, ISU will be significantly increasing donations and season ticket sales. I know there are some that have chosen to cease giving a donation and have not renewed their season tickets due to this change. Please, please, please reconsider. We desperately need money to fund the programs, hire the coaches, build the facilities, and attract the athletes we need to have the success we want to have at Iowa State. If we had consistent success in football, then money would begin flowing in as a result and everything would be great. But we've waited for consistent success for 100 years and it hasn't come. So I think it's time for a change. Let's put our faith in our administration, our coaches, and our athletes by taking a leap of faith and contributing more money, buying more tickets and supporting ISU. For those that have chosen to pull support from Iowa State, please get in the car and come to any game you can. Buy a ticket from the box office that day (or even from a scalper), enjoy the best tailgating in the country, and fill a seat at Jack Trice to support your favorite team, the Iowa State Cyclones!

Great to see all the support in this thread. If there is a minimal decrease in season tickets (which I'm not sure there will be), the extra revenue is going to more than make up the difference.

I could see 1000 less season tickets sold this year, but an increase in revenue and then with a solid season this fall, next year will go off the charts!

Jamie Pollard eats bullets for breakfast.

This is the sarcasm pirate. If you see him anywhere in my post, it means I was being sarcastic. Thank you. Actually there's a good chance I'm being sarcastic even if I forgot the pirate. I'm not to be taken too seriously.
