I know were still holding one schollie.....is that slated for Banks should he make grades? Or is it for Fields if he makes grades?
I find it ironic that a lot was written about Kennard Banks and that he had committed to us, but, nothing more has happened....is there something holding that process up? Is he committed? Is it grades? or is it another player that were waiting on to hear from that should that fall through, that banks gets the schollie?
The guy that is really weird is Jordon Fields....your not the 23 ranked cb in the nation with prototypical size and speed and not get schollies from just about everyone.....It has to be either a personal issue or his grades must be pushing him in the direction of JUCO which means probably Kansas and maybe El Dorado JC and if thats the case the kid will probably end up at KSTATE.....
Anyone with any old insight on these two guys....

I believe it was confirmed Banks is going to be part of the team in the fall.
As for Fields - I believe he was also arrested for a crime we don't want associated with the team. Let me know if I'm wrong in either instance.

As far as walk-ons go, he looked like he would be a dandy who could really be vying for playing time in a few years.

Good to hear about Gamblin. He might be the next Jesse Smith.

I see Gamblin potentially helping in several ways. Bulking up and playing a line position, sliming down and playing LB or special teams. He is an excellent tackler.

Right on Ketel.....forty times are important, but, football ability still holds a lot of cards and from what everyone has stated thats seen this guy play, they all say the same thing - This kid is pretty good. I see him fitting the inside LB very well.....If he could resemble Tim Dobbins in a few years i would be very happy with that.....

Dobbins ran a great 40 time for his size.

Any LB who is speed challenged doesn't fit the Dobbins mold. This is not saying that the kid can't make a contribution, but he simply will not be able to make some of the plays that Dobbins did.

No doubt stevo, but, i also don't put a lot of weight into an athlete running a 5.08 and there could not be other circumstances that are happening. Lingering injury, didnt feel well, bad timing, lots of things....i'm playing devils advocate here, what happens if this kid thought he was big potatos and when he didnt get that major offer, decided he had work to do.....
Sometimes these are the guys that end up being your star, not the 3-4 star kids that everyone points at that will be a star....
Ummmmm how bout lil ol bobby sanders, he cant play in the big ten, he cant play in the nfl and alls he does is get the job done, and did i forget "He's Gettin Paid"....
I can hope he will be the quality of player that dobbins was because dobbins was one of my favorite clones of all time, he simply didnt make mistakes and was in the right place a large portion of the time....
So here's to you Gamblin, get your body into Sheps room and lets see that 40 drop to a 4.6 and then everyone will be thinking you will be great......Hope it happens!!!!!

With his 40 time Gamblin is about as fast or may be as fast as Jesse Smith is. Most 40 times are inflated anyway...Bowen ran a 4.8+ and seemed like the fastest player on the field. Dobbins was an absolute physical freak, which is why he's playing on Sundays.
