I like how Bates is busting his butt for that QB position. It will only make Arnaud work harder. If we end up with a two qb system that performs well, I am all that more excited.

I'm really not a big fan of a 2 quarterback system. The defense will be able to read the offense better based on what QB is in.

My theory generaly is that if you have a "quarterback controversy" then you don't have a quarterback. However, I do see the wisdom in a system like we ran last year where your #2 gets 1 or 2 series per game by design. It gives the opposing defense more to prepare for and it is a lost less nerve racking if your #1 goes down.

I think Chizik is in a tough position here. Unless Phillip himself decides he wants to play another position, Chizik and Petersen need to keep both QBs happy or it is possible one of them bails to start elsewhere. I respect that PB wants to play QB, however, if the outcome of the QB battle shows that AA is our best option, will PB be happy playing second fiddle. It is poor use of PBs ability to have him sitting on a bench as a backup.
It is, however, refreshing to have this "problem".

It is, however, refreshing to have this "problem". The promise wasn't for PB to be a QB, it was for a chance to win the starting QB position. I don't think from PB's quotes or his Dad's that moving to another position is a bad thing if the QB thing doesn't work out.
