You are right..... but still no where NEAR 30K.

Re: How will JTS compare?

I dunno about that...I can think of a couple that were very close to 30k. When we're talking a few thousand plus/minus 30k - we're splitting hairs.

The fact that our fans are known for not showing up when we're losing or even sometimes when we're winning should be a concern. I feel confident we'll be winning under Chizik, but should that not happen - it'll be rough times in Ames and not just in the W/L column - but financially as well.

For the past 3 years we are averaging more people than seats with only a handful of individual games with attendance under seating capacity.
If your looking at attendence figures you won't find a game under 30,000 because all that number is, is sold tickets, it doesn't take into account of the number of no-shows. Not so much last year but Mac's last year there were some games were I doubt more than 30,000 were there and if it was more it wasn't by much.

I'll give you that...... and I know attendance was bad near the end of that year (minus the last game), but the original post I replied to made it sound like we have loads of games under 30K and that's just not factual. Other than a couple games late in Mac's last year, I would bet a paycheck we haven't had a game under 30K butts in seats since that UConn game. Even in Mac's last year those poorly attended games probably still had over 35K.

BTW, I know how attendance numbers work, but that's the only numbers we have to work with...... there are no records kept for butts in seats and most people have no concept of what 30K or 35K or 40K actually looks like in the stadium.

What's most important anyway is the attendance tread and for several years the trend is most definitely upward and we most definitely could keep a lower endzone bowl filled or close to it. We certainly can't wait until after the demand to start thinking about expansion..... you have to look at the trend and plan for the future and quite frankly we're already way behind.

Re: How will JTS compare?

Say what you want about JTS but your only in there for 3 hours and hopefully watching the game.

I havent been to many BIG XII schools but I think what gives the ISU program its charm and mark on the conference is the tailgating scene & fans. Seriously the Loyal diehards are at the lots 6 hours before the game and the set up for game day is great. With the tractors rolling around the lots & Elwood cutting straight through the party makes for one hell of a time. I love it and makes me happy each Saturday...especially after a win.

I understand the brand new car (stadium) gets the players (minnesota) but W's get you to the bowl games.
