I agree 6-7 wins is a good goal. Goals should be realistic because if they are not attainable they don't mean as much. I don't know if 4 wins is a stretch but less than that would be a downer.

I'm kind of a big deal!

I'll have some of what he's having.

Wouldn't care what the site was called - I'm not going to be blinded simply because I'm a Cyclone fan.

Automatically marking down OSU and Baylor as wins, and listing A&M as "could go either way" is a big stretch based on what we saw last year - even late in the season.

Do people forget what happened the last time we played Baylor?

I doubt we'll stick with OSU, and Baylor isn't an automatic win this year.

I kinda like our chances over A&M more than I do Baylor. Simply for the fact we play A&M at home and they have a new coach.

I think repressed in order to prevent serious masochistic repercussions is a better word than "forgot"

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here. No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team. " -Gardy

It's taboo to even bring it up

Hayden Fry once said that ISU doesn't win because there is no expectation of winning at ISU. I intend to make him wrong, not wise. I doubt we win all three but I think winning one of these is absolutely going to happen.

How 'bout jumpin on the Gene Chizik Band Wagon and comin' on in for the big win!

Also, I vaguely remember what happened the last time we played Baylor. We lost under the coaching of Florida's D-Line coach?

No reason not to realize that a win is a possibilty.
Okie State went JUCO this year and got some good defensive help in a pretty good recruting class. Fact remains we still haven't won a road game of any kind since 2005 (A&M).

I'm with 22. Being a "Fanatic" doesn't mean being blinded. I still think we might be scary good in a couple of years, but it's still too soon, particularly with unproven QB's (Arnaud did look real good at times last year, though), no major returners at WR, and the loss of two linebackers and a draft-calibur DT. If thinking we're going to do well just because of who we play makes a "Fanatic", we should concede the title to the Hawk fans right now (where no Michigan or OSU means "Big 10 Championship"... or better)

Maybe my optimism is still stranded in Dallas with all the other poor souls who had American flights this week and weren't as lucky as I was. I think two days in an airport followed by two hours of sleep, a four hour drive, and an exam immediately upon arrival in Ames (plus another one tomorrow) has taken it all out of me today. On that note, I think it's time for a nap.

Baylor has a new coach too, but it is still on the road. That makes it about even in my book anyway.

And that radio station predicted we would lose to South Dakota State, and debated whether or not Nebraska would seriously challenge Missouri for Big 12 North supremacy this year. The 2 host agreed they would.

At best UNL is 4th in the North, more likely 5-6th. GBR!

An Omaha radio station's realistic predictions for ISU. Got me there. Nevermind. We realistically win three game and lose to Nebraska by fifty points. An added dose of realism strikes when Bates, realizing his error in believing in ISU, returns to Nebraska.

What was the line on the Iowa/ISU game last season?
