this is a pretty good article on jj bass, i thought it was great how he is guaranteeing 9 wins next year, sound like he is back to full health, i cant wait for football season!!!!!!

whatever happened to the talk about bass being kicked off the team, cause this article just came out today, i'm sure they wouldnt be talking about him for next season without telling us that he was in trouble

supposedly still "on the team", but not practicing to get grades in order. doubt he will be playing at the Spring game.

Good to hear he is ready to go, but I find it highly hypocritical that there was to be no talk on this board regarding the former situation. This board was built on rumors, but now prohibits talking about certain rumors.

Somehow, this does not surprise me.

I had no idea about any of the rumors and then there was a thread about it saying to not talk talk about it. All that did was make me wonder and want to ask questions. Was quite frustrating.

The "who will be our next coach" rumor-mill is a little different than talking about how a kid is doing in classes. There has to be limits of what can be talked about.

I would agree that things shouldn't be censored and CF has always been as open and unrestricted of a forum as possible. There are certain circumstance however where we may have reasons not to allow certain things. The reasons can be that we've been asked not to allow things or that they could seriously harm the individual in question or Iowa State.

Now - We are no longer going to restrict the talk about this issue because I have gotten the all clear from my contact on the situation. If you notice, no talk about the situation was anywhere else either, we had the info and were asked not to let rumors build while the situation was still fluid and while a resolution was forthcoming. Now that we were leaked the info about a resolution, there really doesn't appear to be a need to keep things quiet.

I want to remind people - as much as you might want to know or talk about something, your first priority should be trying to make sure the best interests of Iowa State are looked after. We could talk endlessly about things that we know, much like I did when CF first started, but that would be counterproductive to what we all want to achieve. There are certain things that don't need to be talked about at certain times to make sure that Iowa State's interests are put first and above all else.

It's called having respect for a request made by the ISU coaching staff and abiding by what the site owner asks. Pretty simple really.

I'll love it if we win 9 games this fall and appreciate the dedication and optimistic views of our players. I'd be damn concerned if they were saying "I'll be happy with 6 or 7 wins" - however - I am not on the team. As fans, we're able to give our realistic expectations for this fall.
