Bass, who will be a senior next season, rushed for 462 yards and four TDs in 2007, his first with the team. Bass was limited by an injured shoulder in the second half of the season and Alexander Robinson eventually replaced him as the No. 1 tailback.
Chizik declined to say why Bass has been suspended, though he pointed out that Bass hasn't had any "brushes with the law."
"We set our players to a very high standard of what we expect from them on and off the football field," Chizik said. "If they're not doing that, it's our prerogative to suspend them from the team."

Looks like Gene isn't messing around. Sounds like he is keeping everyone in check, making sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Good to hear though.

It's better to get their attention now and they miss a meaningless spring game, than let it slide and have them miss the entire fall.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a football coach who sticks to his guns in situations like this???
Good on ya, Coach Chizik. I wish I could give him +rep, but he'd probably just look at me like I was weird and say "WTF is +rep???"

Oh... people will come Mr. Pollard. People will most definitely come.
No, I don't live in Seattle anymore, I'm back in Des Moines but I don't feel like changing my username.
