Did anyone get injured in the game?

He also said that Rashawn has not participated at all in any of the spring practices due to the wrist injury. That has me a bit concerned as we're going to need all the D-line depth we can get.

"Less Glamorous???" Are you telling me I shouldn't wear that backless black evening gown with the slit up the side to my hip anymore??? What about my pearls???? And the stiletto heels really emphasize my legs...

Frankly, I think I look pretty hot in that... And if I can't wear it to the Spring Game, where should I wear it?

I have to admit I'm one of the people who doesn't really get into the spring game under the new format. The reason I wanted to go this weekend was just to be outside and when it wasn't really that nice of day we just passed on it. But like you said, the game is for the team and not the fans.

It certainly is not a real big day for the fans - but as I said - I think that's a good thing. The fans have plenty of other days designed for them.

I always look forward to the spring game mainly because I get to "practice" tailgating and mostly because it's football.

However I never take anything away from the actual game itself. I had a Clone fan come up to me last night at work and said he's horrified for this fall because the team looked awful Saturday. This guy is older too, I was surprised he took it so seriously, but I told him some good stuff that he seemed to have forgotten and he felt better, but I told him to relax, it's only a spring practice.

I remember a couple years where we looked pretty good in the spring ('06 comes to mind) and then how different the actual season went.

As long as we're don't look completely lost in the spring and/or guys just can't work together as a team - I'm not concerned at all.

Re: Less "glamour" surrounding the spring game?

I don't think you can draw very many conclusions about the upcoming season from the spring games at most schools. It's a well-known fact that Bill Callahan at Nebraska would put his 1st team offense up against the 2nd and 3rd team defenses in order to pad their numbers. I guess when you can't get it done in the regular season you have to resort to whatever you can to gain fan support.

There's so many things that will happen between now and August, such as: incoming freshman and JUCO transfers arriving on campus, a whole summer of workouts and conditioning, fall practice, guys getting injured, guys getting healthy, etc. All of these things will drastically change the look of the team this fall, so I try not to get too excited one way or another about the results of the spring "game". However, it would be nice to break out the tailgating gear and experience some football after several months off. It's really just a tease though, because now we have to wait another 4-5 months for the real thing.

Each practice is divided up into segments, some longer than the other. I the Bergstrom facility, there is a clock that counts down each segment. When a buzzer goes off, the players all "scurry" from one location to the other, hinging on what exactly they'll be doing in the next segment.

Highly organized would be an understatement in describing how the practices are organized and ran.
This is how practices are run at nearly every major college today.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Good to know. Here I thought ISU was the only one with such a highly organized structure.

It's also like that in just about every sport. With such limited practice time teams need to make sure to maximize every single second.
