I'm 2-0 for the night so far. Yes because Texas, Texas A&M, Okhaloma, Nebraska all play in small stadiums. There will be 75,000 Iowa fans there until the 4th qtr when they are getting beat. How can a staduim in this day and age not have lights? ISU has used them for day games that run late. They spent $80 mill and they did put up lights. WTF.

2, because Iowa hardly ever has night games, and with their deal with MUSCO, they don't have to worry about installing permanent lights. It's cheaper the way they do it.
EDIT: There are lights on top of the press box, just in case a game does run later in the afternoon.

Yeah, Iowa's stadium is the biggest around and Iowa has more fans than any team in the history of the world. After all, Iowa's stadium seats more fans than all of the Big 12 stadiums as long as you disregard five of them. | | |

We paid $120 a ticket 2 years ago at the game and I was kicked in the back, had stuff thrown at me and constantly yelled at. I went off myself and came pretty close to tossing a little guy. I vowed to never go back again, but revised that later to never sit in a section of that stadium with Hawkeyes in it. This year we will be buying them ahead of time from ISU and sitting where we should be. But there is no way I can miss a meltdown this year as Hawkeyes once again realize they live in a Cyclone State!

There are some crappy seats and sight lines in that stadium and the visitors get stuck with many of them. I'm not saying to pass on the chance to go, just be prepared that you will come away appreciating even the worst seat at JTS.
Another knock on Kinnick is that they sell about 10.000 more tickets than the stadium was designed to hold. The idiots in charge back some 30 years ago or so simply re-numbered the seats to squeeze in more buts per row. The seating situation for the end zone sections at Nebraska isn't much better.

Instead of putting in more seats they just reduce the size of the ones there and unless you are the size of a 12 year old you won't fit comforably in the seat.

I would rather watch the game on tv with my cyclone friends than drive 2 hours to that pit and be surrounded by 80,000 hawk fans. I will keep my money for the UNLV game.

Just sayin'... Iowa fans don't believe that that game ever happened. It's a myth that ISU fans like to spread around. Actually, they widened the seats with the renovations. The seats are now wider, but they added more with club seats and the new south endzone to make up for the lost space.

Since that is the belief out there in Delusionalville and the game was held in Iowa City - I guess that would render the town and university insignificant.
Then again...that would be about as newsworthy as a presser stating water is wet...the sky is blue and Paris Hilton is a dirty little sl-...well, you know.

So, I guess if you want to sit in the stands with Iowa fans, you'll need to buy the package. If there are any tickets left after that, they release them a few days before the game.

The easiest way to get a ticket is to wander around house parties around Kinnick before game time. Odds are some Hawkeye fan will have passed out after hitting the Natty Lite or what have you too hard, and you can just take his/hers.
