My picks:
Offense--A-Rob.
Defense--Kurtis Taylor is the leader of this defense. He's very vocal, and friends on the team tell me that he gave one hell of a speech before the Oklahoma game. David vs Goliath IIRC. And during a few games last year got in the face of seniors and freshmen alike, telling them to get their head in the game, never back down, etc. Not afraid to tell it like it is and light a fire under your butt. Other than KT, I think Jesse Smith is one of the smartest guys on the team in understanding the game of football and is always there to fill a hole or make the stop when someone else misses their assignment.

O: Anyone & Everyone
D: Anyone & Everyone
That's what's awesome about this team - anyone could step up and be a difference maker this year, whether they're a true freshman or a senior.....but at the same time, everyone at every position will need to be a difference maker if we want a different record than last year.
I got excited reading this thread b/c there were a lot of different players thrown out as possibilities to be difference makers on this year's team. I think the same thread last season would have had meyer, blythe and the compliance linebacker as difference makers in most of the posts.
On a side note, I'm really curious to see what Jason Carlson and Sed Johnson bring to the table..........hopefully it's "6!!!!" when they catch the ball.

There's three guys in our secondary that we are returning, James Smith, Chris Singleton and Allen Bell - all have a chance to make big strides. We didn't have a whole lot of big plays from our secondary last year, but these guys have quite a bit of talent. Our better teams have forced turnovers out of the cornerback position especially. I'm looking forward to watching these guys.

I think the biggest difference maker is whoever can step up at all 3 linebacker positions. Is there anybody that has cemented there spot as a starter??? Cameron Bell will be a play maker but I don't even know if he will start this year or not

Jake Christensen. He's going to make our D look great and really give them an early season boost of confidence that we'll carry into B12 play...

I think on offense Hamliton will be a big difference maker. Then on defense I think C. Lyle will make a lot of noise by getting pressure on the QB and that will lead to the DB's all making some big plays most of all I think A. Bell will step up big time.

I am very surprised you are the only one so far to mention Jesse.
He won't wow anyone with his ability but he is incredibly consistent, and as we saw in the spring game can make plays happen when given the opportunity.
On offense I would tend to lean towards Alexander Robinson.
