Season Preview

Sunday Morning Quarterback has a pretty good preview of the upcoming FB season. I especially like the caption of the Gene Chizik picture.

Re: Season Preview

The first comment on this story is pretty funny. They accuse us of stealing our new logo from the Idaho Vandals.

Re: Season Preview

Excellent article. I only wish more could be written up like this. It's not a glowing prediction, but it's a down-to-earth prediction that I think a lot of us here need to consider before predicting bowl games. ;)

But... but that can't be! Our new logo was throughly researched to help build our identity and be unique! It is designed to make us stand out and NOT be confused with other schools

Re: Season Preview

Did anyone catch the Draft day sleepers article on the same page.

Kind of a nasty swipe at B Meyer in the Blythe paragraph.

Umm...aside from his comments about Blythe, both ere and in the Cyclone article, what gave you the idea that he wasn't taking a swipe at everything else ISU?

Why would you read a royal a...er, a jerk like this?

Yeah, another one of those "throw it to Blythe" idiots. Apparently he was too busy worshiping him to notice that 2/3 of the time he was heavily covered, 1/6 of the time he didn't care to put forward the effort to get to a ball that required a little bit of effort to get to, and 1/6 of the time he made something special happen.

I'm not going to say that there wasn't serious talent there, but sometimes I think us fans get too focused on the few brilliant plays that he made that we turn a blind eye to the fact that most of the time he either wasn't open or he wasn't always putting 100% effort in when it was obvious he wasn't the first option.

Re: Season Preview

Odd article, but 5-7 is probably a realistic prediction for the season

I think it was a justified swipe because Meyer was not that great. Some people here had a man crush on him or something but he had one good year in 2005 and never got any better than that, actually he got worse statistically.

And you think that the fact that he was constantly running for his life, being pounded into the turf by pass rushers, had no running threat or elite secondary targets beyond Blythe had nothing to do with that?

Looking at his blog, that sounds like you're saying that Jethro Bodine graduated the highest in his class.
