Re: Give Chizik credit for self-improvement

Our current prospects so far are mostly from the midwest and Texas and less from the southeast. Do coaches use quid pro quos in recruiting?

We should assume that the same friends who are sharing knowledge with us are also keeping their hands off our committed recruits. Those are friends worth keeping!

I think it is a good thing what coach Chizik did. I am sure other coaches were in the same boat as he is being young and coaching a bcs program. Bringing in polished coaches who have been there and now most likely successful, pat yourself on the back coach. It is only human for others to help out others right? I am so pleased that we have coach Gene Chizik

Re: Give Chizik credit for self-improvement

I remember a couple of years ago hearing that many coaches were going in to West Virginia to try and learn a few tricks of the spread offense from Rodriguez and his staff, so I don't think that it is really uncommon. Good to hear though that coach Chizik is willing to learn.

Do any coaches from around the country go to Iowa practices to learn offensive strategy?

I couldn't resist. As you were.

This is very common, I know while I was there the defensive coaches worked with the Tampa Bay Bucs on the Tampa 2 defense, I also know Chris Ash went down and worked with Mark Stoops and Randy Shannon when they were defensive coaches at Miami and I know Skladany went to FSU to work with them.
