Hopefully we can turn that around soon.

Our most recent first round pick was before I was born. And by the way, I'm 32, and I'm a man!

That's painful to look at.
Troy, Louisiana Tech, Miami(OH), and UTEP to name a few, all producing more NFL draft picks this decade

Re: 2000-2007 Cyclone Draft Results

ISU has actually had 8 players drafted in that time, not 6.

2001 - Hayward (3rd)
2001 - Rosenfels (4th)
2001 - Reed (7th)
2002 - Banks (7th)
2003 - Wallace (4th)
2005 - Hobbs (3rd)
2006 - Dobbins (5th)
2007 - Brant (7th)

Re: 2000-2007 Cyclone Draft Results

I think this is a very underrated thing to look at when people come to play ball at Iowa State. I think it helps on the recruiting trail to be able to tell kids that the coaching staff can prepare you for life after college football and possibly even make you NFL draft day material. That is definitely something I think Chizik can bring to the table that former coaching staffs didn't as much. We know he obviously had more talent to mold into NFL players at Auburn and Texas, but recruits should know him and his staff by name and what they can do to make them the best they can be.

Most of our football history er past is painful is it not? So why dwell on it? Gene will get plenty of guys into the pros. Have faith and remain hopeful.
