Jack Trice Stadium website

Have you all seen this? It could use some better photos and more information. Other stadiums have better details.

Trice Field

I do like the way it starts:

"Without a doubt, the most beautiful and convenient football facility in the Big 12 Conference is the 43,000-seat Jack Trice Stadium. Located on a 30-acre tract, the stadium is part of the ISU Center on the southeast corner of the Ames campus. "

I honestly think the average Cyclone fan has absolutely NO idea how good we have it for the location of Trice. Parking availability alone makes it a great place to go to a game. Access to the interstate is a huge bonus.

That IS nice, but some people also like stadiums near bars, restraunts, etc. I loved spending time at the Swamp or Porpoise before a big Gator game just as much as I like tailgating. Completely different scenario but equally as fun...

The location and area surrounding it by far is great but the actual stadium facilities itself is not that impressive if you have been to some of the bigger programs in the conference.

It is all fun, but the opportunities for big time kiss butt to big time donors is at the Jack!!!! They park close everyone sees them, it is status that pays the bills. Give the big donors what they want I will sit in the lower field level on the west side and walk a mile forever if it means the clone win!!!!! Give the big bucks people the royal treatment JP. (I am sure they are)

Atleast there is a Grocery store with-in a mile of the stadium for out of towners

Got so bad trying to find a store in some of the towns that Superfan started mapquesting those as well as the stadium before we left. Before or after the game there is always the option of Welch Avenue... the walk is a little under a mile so thats farther than some want to walk but it is completely do able.

I've expressed my views on how good traffic is before... no need to beat that one in again. The stadium itself is under-whelming compared to a lot but it certainly was well placed

Re: Jack Trice Stadium website

On a side note, can our scoreboard still be considered "New and high tech" when it's 14 years old? Or is that just the stand that is that old and the scoreboard is newer? (I'm thinking it is...)

Either way... I'm still impressed with the one they had in Texas

Re: Jack Trice Stadium website

Looks like all of that info is direct from 1996.

Mention of the Jacobson Building being completed (1996), the grass surface (1996), but nothing about the press tower (1997).
