That's what senior seasons are for.

Looking forward to seeing how Lyle, Bell and others develop.

Re: Future Cyclones in the NFL Draft

based on what we're have seen on the field up to this point, i would say kurtis taylor is the only gauranteed pick in any upcoming drafts. however, i could see plenty of guys playing their way into the nfl (whether it be tis season or later)...james smith, parker, singleton, KO, trey b, more than 1 of our RBs, marquis, rj

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

Probably not but the list of great college fb players who never got drafted or had any NFL success is pretty long. I'd take another Todd Blythe any time.

You got a point. I can think of a number of good players that didn't get drafted. Jason White (heisman winner from OU) and Brad Banks (2nd in heisman from Iowa) just to name 2.

Some of the young O-Line men....Ben Lamack and others played well as freshman, if they keep progressing they should be playing on Sundays.

Never underestimate speed and teams that fall in love with it. Franklin is our fastest guy right? I know he is skinny but if he has a good year, Al Davis could want to marry him. It might be a late rounder but all the same you can't really teach speed.

I'm kind of a big deal!

Of course, we could be Alabama, who at the start of the seventh round, still hadn't had anyone drafted...

Re: Future Cyclones in the NFL Draft

I think that there are some draftable players on the roster. Unfortunately (or fortunately for ISU fans) very few of those are going to be seniors. My guess is that only Taylor, Dedrick and Bibbs are draftable...maybe Singleton or Wallace Franklin with a big year. All of those guys would really have to produce to get drafted. I really do not think that they have anyone that would be jumping early.

IMO Alan Bell is the next high draft pick from ISU. Collin Franklin may be a good pick if he can block well. Bo Williams looks like a pro RB right now, but he'll have to produce at some point.

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

Re: Future Cyclones in the NFL Draft

If you are talking seniors next season, I would say Taylor is a pretty good bet to be drafted, while Singleton, Dedrick, and Bibbs all have a shot.

Now, if you are talking the entire team, I think there are allot of guys who have the POTENTIAL to be picked. We will see how they turn out though. However, I can't understand some of the posts that make it sound like there are only a couple draftable guys on the roster. In addition to the 4 seniors I listed above, I would say Cameron Bell, Bo Williams, ARob, 'Quis, Sed, Carlson, Arnaud, Bates, Black, KO, Baysinger, Lamaak, etc etc etc.

Someone to keep in mind as a potential very high pick (1st round) would be Allen Bell. The NFL loves tall corners who can run, and Bell fits that mold. Again, I am talking potential, but his height and speed give him the measurables on paper.
