Foxsports.com comment about ISU players
Bowen Like Giants Super Bowl hero David Tyree, Bowen went to Montclair High School in NJ. In '06, he led the nation in tackles per game with 12.9. Last year, he recorded 99 tackles from the linebacker position. Solid player who could possibly play safety for Buffalo.
Rubin Big boy in the middle, here. At 6-3, 315 pounds, the junior college transfer adds some depth to an area of need for Cleveland entering this off-season. Joining Shaun Rodgers and Corey Williams, DT is now actually an area of strength.
Why didnt Blythe get drafted? He as a good Cyclone but I guess he is not as good as everyone thought he was. Maybe there was a reason they didnt throw to Blythe more. He was a game breaker for ISU, a guy to fear in college, and a great Cyclone but I guess the pros didnt like his game. One would think he will get a free agent deal.

I think Blythe's problems were route running and blocking. He has great hands and is a big play guy. (I am no scout though!)

I still think Blythe will have a legit chance to stick with a team this fall. Guys like Meyer and Jon Banks will get the "Drew Tate, token try-out" but I think Todd has a real chance.

I have a hard time understanding why you are laughing at a Cyclone not getting drafted. Maybe you didn't like him but he was still a Cyclone and every Clone that is drafted make our school look better. I don't see it as a laughing matter.

We all remember making fun of our little brother. And then that day came when you looked at him and thought "Crap, when did he become taller than me?" There comes a time when you just know your time has passed and it's their spotlight now.

I saw Blythe last night at an establishment on Welch. Some drunk idiot asked him if he got drafted. His response "C'mon lets be real. It was only the first two rounds."
He'll sign as a RFA somewhere.

Glad to see Bowen make it. Hope the guy keeps coming back to Ames as an Alumni. You got to feel good for a guy who didn't have much growing up and makes it to the big time. Seems to be a great great role model. | | |

I'm happy for Ace, he should have a good career.
I was/am hoping my Bears give Blythe a shot. In my biased mind, he's an upgrade over the current WR's da Bears have

To be real honest, I agree with you about the Bears. I also think a team like the Chiefs could have used Blythe. He may not be the #1 go to guy on the team, but he could make some possession catches and some big red zone catches. I just think being 6'5", having great hands and big play ability he could be used somewhere.

Yes. His little brother played quarterback and linebacker for the Gilbert Middle School team this year.

I think Todd's problem is he is a reciever and only a reciever and has a slow 40 time. I think many of the WR that got drafted are either possibly faster and/or can return punts or kickoffs. I think Todd is sneaky quick because if he is not fast how did he get so wide open deep almost every game?

As stated by others I was talking about the throw to Blythe more people. I thought he would get drafted. I have no problem with Blythe and hope he gets on as a free agent. I wish no ill will to any former Cyclone. I was hoping a few more would get drafted but as history has shown ISU has a hard time getting players to the NFL. Lets hope that changes with the new staff.
