Reggie Hayward's future

What is everyone's thoughts on Reggie Hayward's future with the Jaguars. I see they took DE's in the first two rounds of the draft. Reggie may still be a little banged up but is his future still with the Jags or some other team? He's still a great ball player and he'll play somewhere, just not sure it will be in Jacksonville.

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

I hope he gets his chance there, or somewhere else. It's always cool to see a Cyclone on Sunday. Who knows what they are thinking for sure, but evidently they are looking to improve that position.

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

The comment I heard today was that they were disappointed with him, thus the two draft choices. So unless he has a great camp this summer he will be in trouble with the Jags, and they may have to move him or cut him!!

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

The Jags just know they NEED to imrpove their pass rush. They saw how the Giants pressured Brady and how well that worked. They know that they need to get through Manning and Brady to get where they want. I think they will still give Reggie more than a fair share but he has GOT to stay healthy...

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

IMO he starts anew somewhere else, I think he'll have a good year, but it might (eventually) be somewhere different.

I wonder if he's still hurt from his achilles injury

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

There was a mention during the draft (I think during a Del Rio interview) that Reggie hadn't recovered as well as they had hoped from achilles surgery.

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

I can't remember how long he's been in the NFL and I'm too lazy to look it up (plus I'm block from just about everything here at work). But the life expectance of an NFL career isn't very long especially if your not healthy. Hope he is but if he's not 100% he could be in trouble.

Chiefs need a DE, he'd probably start opposite of Hali.

He is the only cyclone that has rear-ended my car!

He will get a chance it just depends on his health. DL is all about depth, you need to be able to keep guys fresh so they can rush the passer/ contain the runner etc.

Re: Reggie Hayward's future

I reffed an ISU basketball camp at the rec with Reggie back in the day ... needless to say he didn't catch much crap from the coaches because, 1) He's huge 2) he was throwing down reverse dunks without breaking a sweat during the half

Nice guy, and the only reason I've watched Jag games, and Bronco ones before that.

Reggie is by far one of the nicest athletes(and guys for that matter) that I ever met while at ISU. We hung out several times - what a great guy!
