Seems like this kid has a lot of upside (and size!). We should make sure that we don't let him go to EIU or leave the state (he's from WDM)

David Barrent - Football Recruiting

As it turns out, the player closest to cracking the top 100 is making his debut in the 250. West Des Moines (Iowa) Valley offensive tackle David Barrent is one of many names to become familiar with on the new list.

Barrent, who is 6 feet 8 and 290 pounds, checks in at No. 101 in the Rivals250. The big man has offers from Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan State and others, and he could become a member of the Rivals100 before he's done. He's big and raw, but his upside is tremendous.

just makes me feel great that valley is in my school's conference for athletics....... this kid is bigger than anyone in our entire school at waukee

Going to be a tough one for both schools to land. He's high on engineering and the Zooker is recruiting him hard. He and his dad are both Hawk fans though, so I fell that Iowa has a very good chance.

ya but he's goin to they ISU team camp and swenson likes ISU and chizik will have three days he can ono on one recruit barrent

Valley has a couple of monsters on the line. I must say I'm a little jealous that ISU is hosting the entire team at their camp. Is this something they do every season?

First time ISU is doing a team camp. Upper Iowa has done one for the past4 years and Central is in the second year of theirs.

Who all are included in the Team camp? Certain high schools? What kind've teams are going to be there and will the whole team be there or will certain positions?

I've seen this kid play before and i must say, he was a beast in the games that i saw. He would be a great recruit.

They have invited entire teams to it. I'm not sure which ones. It is set up in early June (IIRC) and it being billed as a way to get in what would be considered spring ball in other states. I know several schools that will be going to Central and Upper Iowa still because of the timing. With smaller schools and a lot of kids that play baseball and football, it doesn't make sense to go to a team camp without the guys you'd expect to have on the field in the fall.
