What would be cool is if Jamie said our lead donor is Denny Albaugh at $80 million. Ground breaking for a practice facility and Jack Trice will start as soon as the 08 season is over.
Seriously though...People are saying the lead donor is 10 million? That doesn't seem like much money to be doing this type of project does it. Don't get me wrong its still awesome though.

$10 million goes a long ways in stadium expansions.

I seem to remember the lead donation for the Bergstrom practice facility being a much smaller percentage of the total cost than I would have expected to get the facility named after someone. Does anybody remember know how the finances for that project broke down?

Hmm... well there are 5568 registered members of this site. Divide $1,000,000 that many ways it breaks down to $179.59/member per million dollars required... (Or an average there of)
I know it seems a bit steep, but if we could get some of the lurkers to join up, and every one to pitch in... it COULD be possible for us to nab the endzone... Or maybe even do a joint venture with some other sites

Does that mean that if you took the I-State logo off it would it be alright to post, maybe.

IRRC, Jacobson donated $1 million for the building named after him. Well, I did some checking. I couldn't find an exact number, but there was a quote from Bergstrom saying if it wasn't for the other donations, then Mac would have only had 20 yards of field in the building. If we assume that means the lead donation was about 20%, that would be around 1.8 million.
If JP has a lead donation of $10 mil lined up for the stadium, that would probably be enough to get it done. Granted it isn't quite 20% of a $65 million project, but one also has to consider that the stadium expansion can generate addtional revenue, which isn't really the case for the practice facility. All I know for sure is, things have been a little quiet of late from the AD's office, and JP doesn't seem to be one to sit around this long without rocking the boat.

I thought it would be more with all the millionaires and companies out there, but I guess not.

Two things:
1. Does anyone know when the results of today's meeting will be made available?
2. Considering ISU is an engineering school and has a good architector program would there be any possiblity of savings by having ISU staff pitch in with the design and engineering of the project?

But if there is this much secrecy, you know it's bound to be freak'n huge
Or atleast it better be, given the excitment building over this... or the lack of excitement from those who have heard absolutely nothing (aka people who have a life and don't live on boards like this, feeding on every scrap of a rumor)
