Jack Trice request to Board of Regents

The Board of Regents will decide on the Jack Trice Phase II tomorrow. Here is the link which includes information about all the capital improvement projects like Jack Trice and the new Recreation Facilities.

http://www2.state.ia.us/regents/Meet...408_ITEM22.pdf

Check Pages 1 and 6.

Re: Jack Trice request to Board of Regents

All Jamie is asking to permission to see what it would cost and have the numbers crunched right? He is not asking for any state money right?

Won't he have to find out how to pay for it, get the designs and information ready to go back to the BOR for another meeting? This is probably were we get to see drawings hopefully.

Re: Jack Trice request to Board of Regents

Note the last paragraph on Page 6:

The addition of an upper deck to the south end zone provides an opportunity to increase capacity to the stadium and the present value of projected cash inflow from increased ticket revenues exceeds the construction costs necessary to add that component to the stadium. Addition of the upper deck concurrent with the rest of the south end zone provides significant cost savings as opposed to adding it at a later date. This excess cash flow is an important factor in the university’s ability to service the debt associated with Phase 2.

It sounds like fundraising is going pretty good.

They are Meeting on the 30th and the 1st. Today they are going over basic housekeeping. Tomorrow they will dive into the projects.

Pollard just wants approval to proceed. All money will be paid for by donation, ticket sales, etc. No state money will be requested.

I think that pretty much ends thoughts of enclosing the endzone and then waiting for the second level. It's all going up at one time. Just my opinion, but I'm betting sooner rather than later. Why else would Pollard even bother to bring this to the BOR?

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

Did anyone noticed where it said '2008 dollars'? Sounds to me like they want to get this rolling after this season.

maybe I'm reading too much into the document, but it mentions more "premium seating" - all suites between 2 decks? or???

That is what I thought also. I wouldn't want to be his daughter's first boyfriend. Could you imagine being some 16 year boy from Gilbert walking in to Chizik's house to take his daughter out and you see that face? Chizik would probably have 2 coaches and 3 linebackers monitoring you the whole night.

I second that, does anyone know what Jack Trice will seat when the proposed project is completed?

Re: Jack Trice request to Board of Regents

I wonder if they are thinking about creating more suites on the east side like they did with the west side. I can't image having a suite in the Student Section though.

I'm also curious on where they will put the video-board. They will almost have to put it in front of Jacobson, or above it.
