Either that, or you've never been disciplined without it being termed a "second chance". That happens, you know.
Ok.... I'm wrong your right.....
Perrilloux has been in trouble many times, but none of them required a 2nd chance, or 3rd, or 4th.
Getting in trouble in night clubs, skipping class, getting in fights. Reports that he makes fake id's and also using someone else's credit card (ala Dominique Douglas).
Those must be common things these days.
Of course remember.... You said he is better then Sam Keller... How do you know that one?? Did you see him play??? Have you seen him practice?? Everytime he got a chance to shine he got in trouble.

Seriously...since when has getting in a fight, or skipping classes ever been grounds for dismissal? Whoa, an athlete sneaking into a nightclub...better make him run some stairs.
As far as "reports"....reports, rumors are nothing. When there is evidence, when there is a trial, even better a conviction, then come talk to me.
Let's make an academic parallel--since that's what this is. An ISU student gets bad grades one term, and goes on academic probation. Is that a second chance? No, it's the last stage of the first chance. Now if they continue to get bad grades, then are academically dismissed, that's the end of the first chance. If they succeedingly apply for reinstatement a year later and get back into school, that is a second chance.
As far as your earlier, employment example, I've worked with numbskulls who bent (or broke) the rules time and time again. It was only when they were finally fired, then (sometimes months later) rehired (as I scratched my head) that they were on their second chance. |

So we differ on our definition of second chances....
This kid has "Hawkeye player" written all over him... I wouldn't want him...
He might as well put on black and gold then prison orange in my opinion.

Right?
If he were to transfer to Iowa, his past behavioral record would put in the top 10 best behaved players ever under Kirk Ferentz. |

My point was only that out of all the calls for KF not allowing 2nd chances, it surprised me that so many people are hoping for Chizik to give this guy a second chance.

And it's not like it's the same school offering a second chance--sometimes a person just needs a fresh start and a clean slate. |

Yeah but I don't think ISU should be that fresh start and clean slate.... If it happened again once he arrives then what??
Everything doesn't always end up peachy like your implying.

Yeah I know what you are saying, but if or when he did screw up, you know there will be alot of critical fans out there wanting to know why we would waste time and effort and money on this kid.

I know that UNI has had some pretty decent luck with troubled youths who need 2nd chances (Benny Sapp anyone?) Plus...UNI has a lot of talent, they just need a good QB now that Sanderson has Graduated. |

I know the point of message boards is to discuss things, and that's fine, but I think there is ZERO chance Chizik would consider this guy even if he came knocking on our door.
(I would love to see him play at a smaller school though....memories of Randy Moss at Marshall?) |
