Not that I'll complain if they start ion the project after the last game this fall.
I worked for FP&M as a student until December when I was no longer a student - things haven't really changed...

That all looks old to me, says 2006 and the rendering is only one deck, unless i am missing something.

Re: Jack Trice Phase 2 Completion Date

Don't read to much into the date. The info on the current renovations also say 2006. If you look around campus at some of the buildings being renovated (Hub, Seed Science), the signs in front of them say 2006 even though construction didn't start until last fall.

Second, I thought the originally masterplan had JT scheduled to be completed in 2012. If true, then how can anyone say that the site is outdated, if it were outdated it would say 2012 not 2009. It might not be correct, but I don't think its outdated.

The last point I would like to make is that even if it is "outdated", it still shows us that at one time Pollard had hopes of completing the second phase by August 2009. That is much sooner than any of us had thought.

I don't think there was ever a set date for when it would be completed. Mabye a goal, but not a date. Last I checked completion on all projects was pending funding becoming available.

Your point about Jamie's ambition though is inspiring

If I was Jamie Pollard I would just keep the funding quiet and have ABC Extreme makeover come in and knock it out in a couple days. The element of suprise.

It would be kind of cool to have a ground breaking ceremony immediately following the last home game. I'm sure that would drum up quite a bit of excitement for the project and hopefully add some contributions.

Certainly not a bad idea.

I wonder why the upper deck is so small in the new renderings...

Nah, I didn't mean you. I meant IF it were up to the Cyclone fan base to supply questions or call in and ask, there's always some idiot who has to ask when baseball is coming back. Funny, if people cared about baseball as much when they actually had it, maybe it wouldn't have been cut.

haha this is funny because I am student right now and I work for FP&M and it is still the exact same way. Now with that being said i don't think Iowa State employees are going to be doing the labor so maybe aug 09 can be realistic

All I'm saying is that there is no reason to keep asking Pollard that question. The answer is going to be the same. Of course, if you have a couple of million dollars and want to restart the program, by all means ask him.

I've been to ISU baseball games and for as much as people b*tch, they sure didn't seem to care enough to attend then.

FP&M employees have a state job and are unionized... simple reality of life, they've got their sweet gig so they can move as fast or as slow as they feel like...
