Anyone else looking for plane tickets to the UNLV game?

Hmmm allegiant must know about the ISU game. Tickets are normally 99 bucks, on Sept. 18 and 19, $314 bucks.

I have not looked, but if the rates are $99 heading out there a bit earlier, a person could save money by staying an extra night in Vegas.

Well, that is if ya don't gamble it all away...

I was just on there Saturday and got $99 out and $139 back.

My wife always tells me that she is saving me all kinds of money when she shops because she only buys stuff that is on sale. If she expects me to believe that, then I should have no problem getting this by her, right?

I would say if Allegiant did that to the prices you should go with a flight + hotel combo from Expedia or Orbitz, they were like $550-$850/person depending on the hotel you stayed at (not counting Caesars or the Wynn). The Mirage, TI, and Paris had good deals under $600.

Ah yes...the "it's on sale" tactic.

This is quite different, as you could easily show a savings by going a day earlier and spending only part of the savings on a hotel room vs paying the higher airfare and having one less day of vacation.

The prices on Orbitz and Expedia will be going up the more searches for those dates they get. There are limited flights from DM to Vegas, if they are selling this far in advance the price will go up. It's fully automated and depends on the number of searches, there is nobody looking up what may be going on and setting prices...

Cedar Rapids has some good deals from Allegiant. The problem with using other airlines is that the flight combinations are rotten out of DSM. United is the only good one because it goes through Denver. Most of the other ones are through Cincinatti, Houston, Dallas, etc. To me it's worth the drive to Cedar Rapids to get that direct flight

I told you guys a few weeks back to quit looking at Allegiant because the prices were going to be so high. The ISUAA booked their package through Allegiant. There were great deals to be had flying home on Monday through other airlines. I've got 2 round trip tix for $499.

I think they are encouraging you to stay up all night after a day of tailgating, football, then more drinking. You can lose more money if you don't sleep.

If you want to fly to UNLV game and are willing to drive to Cedar Rapids, the flights are still $109 each way. You should probably get them now before it starts to fill up and they jack the prices up there too.
