I very seldom follow recruiting real close but I did spend a little time on Rivals lsat night. It was so nice ot see that most of the players we are chasing are getting offers from other BCS schools. It always amazed my the number of MAc's recruits that did not get offers from ANY other BCS schools. Go get-em Gene!!!

Aslo, can anyone explain why some prospects have ratings (stars) this time of year and others don't?

I think they've only handed out 4 and 5 stars right now.

Let's not get too excited just yet. We saw posts like yours around this time last year, and the 2008 recruiting class didn't turn out to be as highly rated as we would have liked. I think the problem with last year's recruiting had a lot to do with ISU's slow start to the 2007 season. I'm hopeful that history won't repeat itself.

I like the fact that we are in on 4 and 5 star kids but StLouisClone is right. You can offer just about anyone it's landing the kid, getting them on campus, and then to the field that counts.

It's awfully early, and those lists will change a great deal...hopefully because we're having an excellent season this Fall.

That said, I'm not sure how I'll feel about any offers coming out of the summer camps--there weren't any last year, were there?

You could look at it that way, that we were on some really talented kids but that doesn't mean a whole lot until they sign. Or if you look at it from a different perspective, last year we got more signees with offers from other BCS schools than most previous years...

Yeah ISU needs to to win at least 6 of 6 games needs to win

they will win 6 of 6 games and will forfeit the rest of them.they will win 6 of 6 games that way.

6 wins away from a low tier bowl. We travel well.

2 more bowl games this year, so almost an automatic bowl bid if we go 6-6.
6+ wins = Bowl games = $$$ = Better recruits = Better team (unless you're Iowa)

which, if my mind serves me correctly, means that he didnt actually go to EIU and actually may be a high school drop out. is that right?
