I would be interested to see what white pants with a white helmet looks like for home unis.

I think this is why initially JP came out with the white helmet bc the red on red doesn't stand out as well. Plus, a white helmet and white away jersey with red or yellow pants might look kind of off balance. All white would take our colors out of the picture so I don't think that would have worked. (Although Texas makes it look pretty dang good, but winning will do that)

Oh well I guess, I just hope we don't have to alter things again in 2 years.

i didn't mind reading through it at all, and actually thought it would be a lot worse than it was. several of the posts were quite complimentary, and of course there are going to be people ripping on them just because of the team that wears them.

I always laugh when they talk about how we wish we were them.. If that is the case, why do they constantly try to prove that they are not us? One example is the high number of "anti-ISU" hawkeye license plates I see. Probably 50% are anti-ISU rather than pro Hawk. On the other hand, I see very few anti-Hawk ISU plates.

I enjoy how we are happy being ourselves while they have to constantly prove they aren't us. Insecurity sucks.

He gave me a lot of background into the design. Even though they put it up to vote, all in the department were confident that the 'I state" design would win and it did. That design was a new creation and hopes were it would be the winner of the online vote.

Now, about the white helmets. He told me Chizik wanted white helmets while the design people wanted the cardinal helmet. Chizik had said white was the color and the staff was prepared to go with that. But then in one final meeting about the uniforms, and the first time actual helmet demos (as opposed to sketches) were available, Chizik was sold on the Cardinal. I guess the actual Cardinal helmet looked much better in real life than on a drawing.

When I first saw the sketches, I figured that the white helmet was Chizik's favorite--because it was so similar to Auburn's and Texas's helmets.

I'll have to note that I'm not quite sure (especially, looking at the birds--or the pro teams), that the color chosen is Cardinal. Still, it's better than the old bright red and blue.

I might be showing my age here, but what does "Pwning noobs" mean? I ask, because I am guessing that the picture of Chizik playing video games will be funnier if I understand the caption. Just a guess.
