I think the Hawks are still smarting from the 2003 Orange Bowl. Seeing these could be bringing back bad memories for them...

To me it is what it is....Cyclones talk about Hawks...Hawks talk about Cyclones. That is just the way it is. As far as the unis, I am still getting used to them. I really like the new colors, but kind of wished that we had gone with a more modern uni design.

I haven't read the thread over there because I refuse to even glance at anything Hawkeye related, but why would an ISU fan go to a Hawk message board to start a conversation about ISU's new uniforms? Did he really expect an intelligent conversation and raving reviews from our hated rival? What good could possibly come from that? Why would they care about our uniforms? I guess I just don't understand. | |

Strangely, the thing that irritated me the most was how everyone kept saying that we chose the cardinal as our mascot because our colors are cardinal and gold. We were originally the Cardinals before we became the Cyclones, which is where we got the colors and the mascot.
A little off topic, but I don't understand why our helmet options were white or cardinal, why not gold? | |

A little off topic, but I don't understand why our helmet options were white or cardinal, why not gold? The reason why is that "STATE" would get completely lost in the gold helmet, even with a cardinal outline. On the cardinal helmet, "STATE" sticks out, and even the "I" is visible.

I guess you're more perceptive than me, good for you. It's the slow time of year, so everyone is looking for something to talk about. I don't blame them for weighing in if someone presented the pics. I don't expect them all to like the unis although some of the posts are a little extreme. Guess you can't expect much from them.
