Has "thrown under the bus" kind of "jumped the shark"?

It seems like "thrown under the bus" is an incredibly overused term now. Especially used on both sides of the Wes/McD "situation". It was cute at first, but has definately reached its quota on this board in the past 72 hours.

Just my thoughts. Please don't throw me under a truck for this observation.

Edit:: I'm an idiot. I don't know what I did to get this under the Football forum. I guess I don't start enough threads to know what I am doing.

I'm tying you to the train tracks....
    Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
    'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

Yes! And so has "I don't have a dog in the fight."

I bet you get thrown under the bus for this comment. I had not used that saying yet so I figured I could use it at least once.

Does this include "I don't have a horse in the race" or can that be a separate over used saying.

The one that I can't stand and is very overused is:
    "It is what it is."

And you did use it properly!

As Marty Tirrel would say, "Good job out of you"!

You are dead on with this. I have been using "throw ____ under the bus" in my everyday life a ton the last 2 days. It has infiltrated my life.

We could utilize, Taken to the cleaners, Smacked like a Seal at the Roundup, Run Over by Train, Kicked in the Behoovies, Made mincemeat Pie Out of, Made a laughingstock of the league, Baby thrown out with the bathwater, Doused with flames, Steamrolled, Junkyard Dog Junked, etc.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

When we lived in Nebraska, that was Bill Callahan's stock answer to the Husker press. It drove them absolutely crazy, and the fans crazy. For that reason, I still love that phrase.
