Commandment VII - Thou shalt not overkillListen, if somebody does something funny in the first inning, you should not keep ragging on it in the fifth. The more you say something, the less effective it becomes. You must be aware that the same stuff gets really old after a couple of games - especially in a series against the same team. Unless something is really working on one or two guys, put it away for a couple or three games.
Commandment VIII - Thou shalt be friendlyThe best way to make these guys listen to you and divert their attention from the task at hand is to be just as nice as you can be. When you look into the dugout, wave and say, "Hi guys!"
Commandment IX - Thou shalt not cross the lineThat line is the line of brutality. Look, the players know that heckling is part of the game. Don't make it personal between you and the players. Remember, they have bats, you don't.
Commandment X - Thou shalt remember the childrenNo matter what you want to believe about role models, the children are watching and listening. They hear what you say and see what you do. Be aware of that when you sit in the stands. If you don't know whether you fit the bill, just ask yourself, would you want your best friend's kid sister or brother to sit next to you at the next ball game? Well, would you?

AMES, Iowa – For the third time in as many seasons, Iowa State football fans have essentially sold out the south end zone seating at Jack Trice Stadium.
Ticket orders for just under 3,000 seats have been received and a few scattered singles are all that remain of the highly popular $125 end zone ticket.
Beyond the regular-priced season ticket ($350 each plus a Cyclone Club donation), the athletics department continues to offer both Cy’s Pack (195 each) and Hillside ($99 each) season ticket packages.
Iowa State’s six-game home schedule features match-ups with Orange Bowl champion Kansas (Oct. 4), Alamo Bowl participant Texas A&M (Oct. 25) and Cotton Bowl champion Missouri (Nov. 15). The border rivalry game with Nebraska and first-year coach Bo Pelini is set for Oct. 18. The non-conference slate includes contests with South Dakota State (Aug. 28) and Kent State (Sept. 6).
Fans, who haven’t secured their seating for the 2008 season, can still do so by purchasing tickets online (cyclones.com) by phone (1-888-478-2925) or in person (athletics ticket office at the Jacobson Athletic Building).
So, is it my imagination, or is JonDMiller pathetically trying (and failing) to be some "voice of the Cyclones" on CycloneFanatic? What's with the friggin' "news updates" he keeps posting?
That's almost as sad as the amount of Cyclone "fans" who kiss up to Jon because he has a low-rated radio show in a low-powered FM station.....

The funny thing about this article is that the headline on cyclones.com and in my e-mail inbox read "Cyclones' End Zone Seating Gone." When I saw that, I immediately thought it meant the Phase II plans had been canceled!
Jon, I don't know whether you reworded that headline on purpose so as to avoid a panic on this board, but if you did good job outta you!
My daughter is going to be a freshman this year... when do students purchase tickets? Or... is that now????

Orientation was when I did it last year. They had a booth in Friley I believe. Cost something along the lines of $250-$300 for football and basketball (break games NOT included). I know when I renewed mine in April, it cost $250 ($125 each), but I don't know what they're extending to people who aren't renewing. Have her join Cyclone Alley and all that crap if she wants a ton of free shirts and other useless crap.
