You could take out your neighbors and their trees just by attempting a three-point (more like 22-point) turn. Although I bet that sucker would TCOFB in the sandbag hauling department.

Personal taste I suppose. I think they have to change the logo that is up there, as it is the old one that isn't being used anymore.
It would probably look pretty bad to keep a logo up on the stadium that is out of date.

(Second side note, did I just make my 100th post???) When did you work for Asset Recovery (formerly ISU Surplus)?? I worked for Central Stores, and occasionally with Asset Recovery, from 1999 - 2004. Were you there before or after they moved to the old ice rink? There were some real weirdos that came through on sale days. . .

(Second side note, did I just make my 100th post???) I loved the "garage sale" they had (and I guess still have). And yes, it was your 100th post, congrats.

I gotta say I love it. It seems very fitting to have the name of the stadium (and one of all the time great Cyclones) on display. At that point, you know what school you're at, let's give Jack a little more attention.

While I love the existing signage on the stadium, I'm pretty sure I'll love this even more.

IIRC, part of the process is also to replace all of the fencing to match that around Reiman Gardens--smooth move. Though perhaps that's the next phase.
Still, isn't it strange that a horticulture garden has more cash for cosmetic improvements than the football program? All right, maybe not--a garden is all about appearances.
Funny, if we ever expand the stadium and start drawing 70K, someone is going to complain about all of the parking area that Reiman Gardens represents.

Those complaints have been voiced since the first shovel turned up sod in that location. Plus, the whole west side where the practice field is now used to be GA parking.

I'd be up for building a whole new stadium and parking complex, say, around where Towers and the Cross Country course are.
Oh wait, they sold off that dairy farm for apartments, didn't they? Stick in an interchange for State, and that would have been perfect.
Poor planning means poor execution.
Still, I guess we can make the most of what we've got. I like the "Iowa State University", because you can see it from so far at night--unlike the gateway. But I'll look forward to seeing how "Jack Trice Stadium" looks as well.

I think that the "Iowa State University" on the brick "gateway" is lighted, although not nearly as prominant as the one on the stadium.
I really think that Reiman Gardens adds to JT much more than it takes away. And the practice fields? They were more than necessary. ISU fans have it pretty good as far as parking goes. If you want a spot in the paved lots, donate $250. $100 gets you across the street in the grass...and that's a good deal if you plan on going to every game (when there are 7 home games at least). I like where the stadium is, other than it being in a floodplane. Without Reiman, it was basically in the middle of open parking lots and grass. I think that we're moving closer and closer to it being an impressive complex.
