Any word on Blythe and Tuba and the other guys

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything on how Bowen, Blythe,Rubin, and the other guys are doing. I haven't seen anything for a while on them.

Bowen is expected to play special teams and compete for the 2nd string LB role in Buffalo:

Rubin has a good chance to make the Browns roster as the #2 nose tackle.

Todd Blythe is very unlikely to make the Saints roster. Maybe he can sign somewhere as a free agent, but I have doubts about that.

SunHerald.com : Saints questions linger

It REALLY surprised me that Blythe can't catch on somewhere. You would think with his size, vertical, and hands he made make a great possesion receiver. He has 6 inches on the average NFL corner, and a good vertical...

I'll order up another shot of sin, I'm running twice as hard into the wind, I'll hitch a ride when the next one comes in, fell off the wagon again...

I wish the best for Todd, but him not making it at the NFL level would not surprise me in the least bit.

He has those things you noted, but lacks certain things it takes to be a successful receiver in the NFL.

Anyone have an opinion if he is CFL material?

I certainly think he could play in the CFL. IMO, he may have an easier time there than in the AFL.

isn't AFL all about speed, speed, speed? While I don't think TB is slow, he may not have the juice to hang with the fast guys? I don't know enough about AFL or for that matter CFL, but think he has enough talent to play somewhere, if he can't make it on Sundays.

All leagues are about speed. IMO, the AFL is "quicker" than the CFL or NFL.

Bowen is currently 2nd string SLB and Banks is 3rd string MLB. Hope Banks can make the practice squad if not the team.

Will Todd settle in as a Barnstormer if all things go South?

He seemed to be the Man when he was a freshman. Looks like he became lost along the way to the pros. Maybe he wasted his time in No when he should have been looking elsewhere.

Must be either the blocking, the route running crispness, or the shoes.

There was a very flattering article about Todd earlier saying he had the tools and showed something at minicamp. But it WAS written by a Saints fan so I guess I'm not sure. I'd love to get a few of his years back with a better line and more consistent QB play - think he would have been much more dominant but if wishes were kisses than I'd have the herpes.

4.55 does not cut it for a pro receiver? He was faster than Stevie Hicks...

I saw Brett at the gym yesterday, didn't get a chance to ask him if he has any prospects, hope for the best for those guys and I'd like to thank them for all their efforts for ISU.
