Yeah, I'm sorry, but it wasn't like McCarney was pulling in tons of talent. IMO Chizik already has a better class (2008) than Mac ever had. We'll see, but Chizik isn't going to hand out half his scholarships to Iowa athletes that UI didn't want.

These people know nothing about ISU, they only make comments that we will suck because they hate us. They could do a little research before they pick up the phone.

Also nice lil jab from Jon about ISU only getting guys from Iowa because EIU didnt offer them a scholarship. havent heard that one before. Look at all the great success that Iowa has had with their homegrown boys. Maybe 3 or 4 that have actually done soemthing at the college level.

Football conversation on how successful ISU will be in the next 10 years. Caller said we definitely won't make 5 bowls in next 10 years because we aren'ty pulling in good talent. He then proceeded to ask Jon if Arnaud was a Mac or Chiz recruit.

If he didn't know about Arnaud how does he know what kind of talent we are bringin in? Typical "They aren't Iowa so they must not be good." attitude.

He may be right but it would be nice for him to have a knowledgable opinion instead of an opinion pulled out of a below the waist orifice.

Wow, this is a BOLD statement considering the kids have not even played a game yet. I remember people praising some of Mac's classes in the past before they ever played that never panned out too. I say you have to wait till their 2nd or 3rd year in the program before you can really evaluate just how good a recruiting class was.

I don't know about the quality of GCs classes as opposed to Mac's in terms of talent, but so far he has had less attrition and more guys that were recruited that actually showed up! Some of Mac's best classes on paper ended up having less than half the recruits around after the first season.

Does in state talent really matter to either school? There have only been a handfull of difference makers from the state of Iowa. Tim D, Banks, and Blythe off the top of my head. It is nice to have players from Iowa but the players from Texas and Florda make the difference.

Same for BB. Iowa would win the instate battle when when Davis and Alford was at Iowa but ISU was the one going to Sweet 16s and winning Conference titles and Big 12 and 8 tourny titles.
