PS: did he ever have to brush his teeth, or did the Grill cover it all?

Calvin Branch got the boot for stealing checks and using them out at HyVee and other places. He was among at least a few guys that were arrested for the same thing. I believe "The White Rat" Geoff Turner was also involved, among others. Both of those guys ended up at CSU...

Re: TROY DAVIS FOR HEISMAN
My mind is a little fuzzy, but am I correct that Walden's last game was when he was suspended and in the press box? So Davis finally got into the game because an interim coach was leading the team. I remember lots of hype about Davis joining the team and for some reason Walden refused to play him.

Re: TROY DAVIS FOR HEISMAN
Am I the only one that remembers his time here as one I will always remember? I could care less about his grill or the way he spoke, that guy could flat out run. If he was bigger I think he would've been an outstanding NFL back. You never knew what was gonna happen when he touched the ball.

He was a hell of a running back, and one of the main reasons that I sat through every home game, through quite an awful stretch of ISU football.

I don't see why he doesn't get as much love as Seneca does, or even Mike Taylor.

Re: TROY DAVIS FOR HEISMAN
What a complete lack of class some of you are showing in this thread.
What if he came from a different background, spoke different, had gold on his teeth?
Who cares.
He did a great things for the program. Was a class act when meeting fans....and has taken the time to come back to visit ISU from time to time. Troy has always been proud to be a Cyclone.
Grow up.

Re: TROY DAVIS FOR HEISMAN
Unfortunately, my most lasting memory of Troy's years in Ames revolve around how much he suffered individually (never winning the Heisman) because ISU was so bad. Did you know that at that time (it's happened since), every D-I college football player who had rushed for over 2000 yards in a season won the Heisman trophy? My gosh, it had never happened before in the history of college football and Troy did it twice! It just goes to show that, unfortunately, the voters did not want to give the Heisman to a player on a losing team...

Even worse, they didn't even give him the Doak Walker award as a consolation prize. That went to Byron Hanspard from TTech. He was ridiculously snubbed because he played for ISU.
