We have won at OSU and I think Hawkins is ten times the coach that Gundy is. Also you heard it hear first that Colorado takes WVU. I'll rep you if that actually happens. It looks like a bloodbath on paper. Our offense hung 28 points in one half on them, imagine what Pat White and Noel Devine will do....

I don't understand the love with NU either this year - I have no base for that satement outside of: they have a new coach, really sucked last year, and a blanket hatred of them in general.

Will you guys negative rep me if it does not happen?
Just consider me sold on Colorado. I think they have one of the best coaches in the nation and in the WVU game will be going up against an unproven coach. I think at Colorado will be a very hard game for them and I guarantee you the line won't be over 7.5.

Again, I really like Hawkins, but you have to question him at least a little via that game in Ames. No way they should've lost to our FB team especially after jumping out to a 21-0 lead (and it didn't even look that close).
Losing that kind of game is something we've seen in Ames before and that staff is down the river. It seems CU got up for the extra big games last year but didn't bring it in at least 2 others (ISU, KSU).

I wouldn't expect any second year head coach to win every game he was supposed to, regardless of the competition. I fully expect CU to be better this year, I don't think they'll blow a lead like that in Year 3, and in all probability we'll lose out there. The only time we've won in Boulder in conceivable memory was a year they went 3-8 and we went 8-3.

I've said this before (not on here) but I think we nip either Kansas or Mizzou, but not both. My early inkling is on Kansas right now. I think they'll be a bit roughed up before we play them and Mizzou is just that darn good on offense.
I would rank the game @CU over the OSU and Iowa games in terms of toughness.

Sam Houston St. Exactly. If KU doesn't start 4-0 (or at least 3-1, USF could get 'em), they're in for a long season. I agree that we could get one of those games. If we can put forth a home effort like we did against OU last season (both on the field and in the stands), it's a great possibility.

For some reason I thought we weren't their first conference game. I retract the "roughed up" comment but still think we have the best chance to nip them when compared to Mizzou.
I think USF, especially on the road, is going to give Kansas a serious run for its money. If not beat them. They won't be roughed up over it, but their confidence may take a hit.

I can't neg rep a ballsy call like that. I agree that CU should be a quality team, but WVU was one complete McCarney v. Mizzou-esque clunker away from playing in (and probably winning) the national title last year. I don't think they are as good this year, and the coach is unproven, but he still has a butt-load of talent, and a buzzsaw of an offense. This is a top 10 (if not higher) team. If CU wins this game, I will look for them to push VERY hard for the North title, but I don't think they win this game.

Keep in mind, based on last year, we played with Mizzu while KU beat the tar out of us. Logically, I'd give us a better chance against Mizzu than I would KU.
But, if FB was played solely on logic, it would be quite boring.
People are very quick to rip on KU and credit their success only to their schedule from '07. I don't see them being as dominant as they were - but they're still going to be a damn good team.

Reesing performed surgery on our secondary last year.
I say 3-1 non-conference, 3-5 Big XII (@Baylor, Knebraska(God, I hope I'm right about this), @K-State) - hell we could potentially steal another one, which would be great. BTW, we haven't NOT started off 0-3 in the Conference since Seneca was our QB. We really need to avoid that this year.

All I am saying is with their moderately (I say that loosely) tougher non-conference schedule and the performance of the offense in the spring game that we have a better shot against them than some would give us credit for.
Reesing is a good quaterback, there is no doubt about that. However, his line is what bought him a lot of time last year and the same reason that kept their running game going as well. Without his bookends it can quite easily turn the opposite. I am not ragging on them for their schedule from last year. I am saying that they had a team with juniors and seniors in the right place that are no longer there. Without a doubt they will have to work harder this year to duplicate last year's success. That is what gives us a chance.
I'm just saying that I feel we have a better chance against Kansas than against Mizzou because of their losses and how we could matchup with them. Plus there is that factor of being possibly overlooked.

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season
If we beat any team that went to a bowl last year I would be pumped. I dont see it happening however. Our team really blows to those on the outside looking in. Hopefully we can surprise someone.
