ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season

ESPN - Big 12, Big Ten, SEC dominate bowl forecast - College Football

they have most of our opponents (including kent state) going bowling. Only ones they aren't picking are obviously SDSU, UNLV, KSU, and Baylor

They think CU goes bowling, eh? Interesting.

CU was a good team last season. Cody Hawkins just blew up in the second half against us.

With Darrell Scott their backfield should be solid (I can't remember if Hugh graduated or not, either way Scott should be a beast)

Their D is also quite good, I think it's their MLB was up for the Bednarik last year

I don't think a bowl is out of the question

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here. No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team. " -Gardy

Good QB returning and one of the top-rated RB's coming in to a team that went bowling last year...I'd give them a pretty good shot.

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season

I dunno, I thank the complete inept coverage of Todd Blythe by the CU defense for that 2nd half comeback. Cody sure floundered but CU going one-on-one with Todd is what sunk 'em pretty fast.

That was a giant coaching blunder. I think Hawkins is a good one, I just think they're a year away for a very solid bowl opportunity. Then again, I have not looked at their schedule.

Colorado has a good shot to surprise some teams this year and I think is a lock to go to a bowl game. I also think at Boulder is the second hardest game on our schedule behind Mizzou

they actually have a tough non-con sched. csu is always a tough one for the buffs, and wvu and fsu are definately no slouch. combine that with texas, at kansas, at a&m, at mizzou, and at Knu, and they definately have their hands full

Didn't they go for it on 4th down in isu territory that failed also.

Oh man, I can't agree there. I agree CU could surprise teams, as we could - but I'd put the CU game easily behind Mizzu, KU and barely behind Iowa and Oklahoma State.

That's no easy task...especially with West Virginia and Florida State on the list. If they were hosting FSU, I'd give 'em a better shot at winning than playing in Jacksonville.

Losses
WV
FSU
Texas
Kansas
Mizzu

Wins
Colorado State (rivalry game, so who knows)
Eastern Washington
Kansas State

Could go either way
A&M
ISU
Oklahoma State (only because it's in Boulder)
Nebraska

CU faces 3 teams expected to contend for BCS bowls. No easy task.

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season

I see what your saying ISUfan22 but what is our record the last 20 games at Boulder? Have we only won 1 game out there? I think so but am not sure.

We have won at OSU and I think Hawkins is ten times the coach that Gundy is. Also you heard it hear first that Colorado takes WVU.

Man that's like facing 4 teams that could have been in BCS bowls and another that got screwed out of the NC by Western Michigan

Methinks they'll have a better record than we did last season, but after seeing the schedule I'm starting to come around to your thinking 22

I would put ISU in the win column before I put Colorado State there.

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season

Our luck in Boulder is well documented that...we have no luck. Not just in FB either.

But I still can't rank that game ahead of a game against a team that lost but one game last season and won their BCS bowl game. It's pretty even though between @ OSU, @ Iowa and @ CU - but I'd list them in that order (even though our luck in Iowa City has been decent recently).

I think CU gets 4 or 5 wins - but 6 will be tough. I mean, based on schedule - we've got a better chance to go bowling than CU does. And, we did beat them last fall. Not that we'll do it again - but I'd kinda think ISU could very well have a better record than CU in '08.

Re: ESPN Bowl Predictions for the upcoming season

We have Kansas at home and we have a history of playing decent at OSU and Kinnick. Plus I think Colorado is much better than Iowa and slightly better than OSU with a chance of being better than Kansas!

Remember Kansas has a tough schedule compared to their cupcake one of last year. Their confidence won't be nearly as high and thus our chances increase. Plus its at home
