Best road game

Just another one of those bored summer threads to start, just trying to get excited for football season not that im already not because those 2 months cant come any faster...

What is your favorite Iowa state away game you've been to, or a game that you really would like to go and see on the road, based on city/stadium, etc...

just wondering

Austin, Texas is a great place to see a football game. The people are all really nice, that's what impressed me the most. Beyond that, the stadium looks great, tailgating is pretty good if you can find your way around to a pay lot, and the whole town really gets into it. Seeing Texas Tower lit up orange is a really neat sight.

The only ones I have been to were at Baylor in 1999 (I think that is right or was it 2000?) and at Minnesota in 1997. I would love to go to one at Nebraska, provided we can win :).

Arrowhead.
At Mizzou winning on a goal line stand.
Comeback at Baylor in 04.

Nebraska was also fun last year even though we lost.

The batting down of the pass in the end zone on the last play of the game at Missouri.
My first road game at Arkansas under Earle Bruce was great. It took 12 playes to beat us.

1990 won at #16 Oklahoma 33-31. 1st victory vs the Sooners since 1961 and put our record up to 5-61-2 against them.

Cy-onara, Hawks! (from CR Gazette after ISU win over Iowa in 2002)

I want to go to College Station for our game in '09. I know of a few people that went down a few years ago and they said it was really awesome. Great atmosphere, great fans.

hmm far as games on the road that i have been to was shreveport that was a good game but man was it ghetto lol i think a few i would love to go to would be UT, T A&M, and OU i think they would be pretty loud and exciting places to see a game.

Re: Best road game

I'll show my age a bit here - but it was at the Carrier Dome in 1969. The dome was a relatively new phenomenon. And Syracuse was a respectable Top 20 team.

ISU was still learning the game under Johnny Majors. Syracuse won late in the game. But ISU was letting people see what the future would be like.
