I really liked Jons predecessor, and I also like Jons show... most times. I could care less about the music opinions and some of the "brackets" that go on during the summer dead months. But when he talks sports, especially local sports, its quite interesting.

Unfortunately, plenty of hok fans swallow this crap hook line and sinker. Do I play a song called 'Cyclone Meltdown' when ISU fans lose their minds after losses?
Nope.
Do I play a song called 'Hawkeye Meltdown' after Iowa fans lose their minds after losses?
Yup.
Do I take after some segments of the Iowa fan base after losses, and a loss of perspective (from my vantage point)? Yes, both on Soundoff, which has a much larger audience than KXNO, as well as on KXNO, as well as on State of the Nation's on Mediacom TV that can be viewed by more than 400,000 people.
Do I do that while risking possible $$$ on the HN.com and HN Magazine side? Yes, I do.
Do I take jabs at some segments of the ISU fan base? Absolutely.
I understand where I am posting this, and I understand that some of you are going to let these comments, and the on air comments I make that are not necessarily Hawk friendly, go right past you because you won't hear it, as you listen with an anti-Hawk bias. I get that, but I'll be here from time to time to remind you when I think you are wrong about that, as I am now.

Actually, I didn't hear the show, and can't hear the show, but the one in question sounds "suspiciously" like something Deace did a couple years ago.
In fact, most of your show sounds like you're searching for ideas and re-warmed Deace is about as good as you can get.
Maybe you need some writing talent??? Now, where can we find some of that??? |

Jon, your show is fine. You admit you're a hawk fan and you throw bones towards ISU in my opinion. My guess is people who bash you are the ones who hear tidbits and then get disgusted and don't really know your show. Almost every time you jab ISU, you immediately claim you're joking. And when you take a serious jab at ISU, you also admit it's a small amount of our fanbase you're talking to. I hate the hawks more than anyone I know and you know that....yet I have no problem with your show (minus giving the Twins any love) and will continue to listen.
My guess is most people are just bored on here and waiting for football

Yup. That's an easy one. No one melts down like hawk fans. And you have to deal with that on a weekly basis hosting soundoff. Cyclone fans have minor meltdowns comparingly. A part of it is due to the fact that they haven't seen the success that iowa has. But then iowa hasn't seen enough real success to warrent their epic meltdowns either.

I agree with you that Hawk meltdowns seem far more epic than ours, but I wouldn't say ours are minor in comparison.
I mean, this site was in disarray following a few MBB losses last season and even some the FB losses.
