Phase 2 won't happen until we can consistently fill the stadium we have now. Which we might do...or maybe not...well, who knows. It's not like there's a thermometer or anything we can check to see how season ticket sales are going.
First, they will be filled and not empty. Second, the "bowling in" will happen when the money is there and not because of attendance.

Lastly, have you ever been to a Miami (FL) game? Empty seats have never seemed to hurt their recruiting and save for the games against FSU and UF...they always have a lot of empty seats.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

We can't just sit on our butts and not upgrade the stadium and capacity to that of a Big XII school. If we do we just relegate ourselves to being in the lower class of the BCS conference schools and Pollard isn't going to allow that.
Actually that's not correct, the stadium capacity was increased by rule when they started selling hillside season tickets. If you look at the official attendance from last season we were just under 90% capacity for the season ranking #52 in the country.
