4000+ yards rushing in two seasons, I'm not even going to say his name. Who else in the history of NCAA football has ever done that?

Dwayne Crutchfield HM AA RB in 81 and played in NFL for a few (underachieved)
John Quinn (led Big 8 in Total Offense)
Dave Archer (nice pro career)
Tracy Henderson (AA WR who was booted from team the next season for a minor infraction if I recall)
Chris Washington (LB) all-time tackle leader and nice NFL career in Tampa
Shamus McDonough All Big 8 DL
Chris Boskey All Big 8 honors (would have been better but his knees were shot)
Bruce Reimers All Big 8 OL who played in NFL for many years in Cincy
Dennis Gibson All Big 8 LB who played in Detroit and in SD in a Super Bowl game (clinched AFC title w/ a nice defensive play)
Larry Crawford (All Big 8 DB) who is one of CFL's great DB's
Alex Giffords (All Big 8 PK)
Rich Frank (All Big 8 PK)
90's
James McMillion (the eel) PR
Jeff Shudak (All Big 8 PK)
Ty Stewart (All Big 8 PK)
There were other nice guys and decent players, I just prefer to forget the 90's- Horrible time for ISU and football
The Gordon Eaton years were miserable!!! Nice list.
First ISU player I really remember being a fan of is Blaise Bryant RB. He seemed to be good at the time and on the team that went 6-6.
Others Ty Stewart, Troy Davis (who should have won one Heisman) and S Wallace.

Dennis Gibson, LB. Forget the time frame but he won a Superbowl with the Chargers.

T.D. .... Todd Doxen
Stats with the Dolphins his rookie year-> GP:1 RuYds: 1 TDs: 1
can't get better than that!
no, seriously Troy Davis.
Sage was good. Probably underappreciated while he was in Ames.
Seneca is the man, but so was Reggie Hayward.
Who knows Ryan Kock may have been on of the best college runningback ever if we extrapolate out based on his 1 start in the last game of 2006.

When you consider career at ISU it has to be Troy Davis.
If you are trying to figure out which guy had the best football career, including NFL.... It has to be
Marcus Robertson

David Archer is one of only three or four guys to reach 6,000 passing yards in a single CFL season.

Joe Henderson.
Alex Espanosa
Can't remember any of the studs from 80-82 this late at night.
Otherwise 90s: without a doubt Troy Davis
00's: Sage and Seneca. That is the toss up.

For those who may have forgot about Troy's accomplishments...here is an article (although looking back... somewhat poorly written) that I wrote for the former CN two years ago. Scout.com: It Seems Like Only Yesterday
I know others have mentioned Ennis already, but some forget he led the Big 12 in rushing in both 2000 and 2001 and made Seneca's transition to the conference a bunch easier. Seneca was much flashier, but I think it can be argued Haywood was as valuable in the early part of the decade. Believe it or not, it has been five years already since Ennis passed in May 2003.

70's would be Matt Blair, one of the best players I have seen at ISU, he was a beast! Also for the 70's you would have to include one of the best over all offensive players in Iowa State history would be George Amundson. George was a QB and a running back and played several years in the pros.
From the 70's you have to include Keith Krefle, a TE that played about 10 years in the pros, Ike Harris, who became a very succesful businessman after playing in the pros for 7-8 years, Mike Stensrud would have to be on any list for the 70's and he went on to play many years in the pros. You also have to mention Wayne Stanley and Dexter Green since they were good players in the Earl Bruce years.
There were a lot of good players in the 70's, but if I have to choose one that was the best it would be Matt Blair without much argument. He was big and fast and overall just dominating and went on to do it for many years with the Vikings.
