The best thing (among all the great things) about being at the ISU/ eiu game in '98 was the fifty-something hackeye fan right behind me ******** about me standing the whole time. Can you believe that? I was doing the guy a favor!

Ushers can ask you to comply with the rule or be escorted out... they certainly have the capacity to do so. The Chiefs article mentioned a text messaging system to let the stadium personal know about problems... well ISU had the same thing, or atleast expirmented with it last year. I think it was a bit under advertised but I remember seeing something about it before one of the earlier games...

stand. yell. GO STATE. got a problem with standing? watch from your chair at home because you obviously don't care about atmosphere, college football or Iowa State. (I am excluding physically handicapped of course.) But one of my friend's dads who tailgates has severe back and knee problems from physical work in his younger years and he always says he will be standing, cheering at State games until he needs a wheelchair. Also attributes the beer for allowing him to drink through his pain. my kinda guy.

IMHO, if I wanted to "sit" and watch a football game, I just wouldn't go. Sitting for an entire game just defeats the purpose for me.
If I'm going to sit the whole time, I'd do it at home. I don't have to pay for a ticket, gas, or parking. I can sit in a much more comfortable chair without the feeling of being squished between two other people (or the feeling of being pushed off the bleacher), and I don't have to deal with drunk people puking, spitting, or stumbling around me. I can drink all I want, even through the game, tailgate the whole time, have a totally unobstructed view, and instant replay in HD. Hell, I could even get a mp3 recording of crowd noise and pump it through a surround sound with the game audio to simulate the atmosphere.
But that's just me.

The Chiefs game I was at last year had about 5k people at it so standing wasn't really a big deal. I digress though.

This is stupid, people are going to stand at games regardless of what the rules are. Just don't let them stand on the benches and everything will be fine.
