He has all the tools to be a stud - 6'2", 210 lbs and runs a 4.5 thats the type of athletes we need to really get aggressive. Not to mention the defense for 2009 will be loaded at DB, he could be set free!!!!
This would be a huge shot in the arm for recruiting if he committed early to us, but, regardless - i would love to see him on the inside spot for 4 years, would be a great Jesse Smith replacement!!!!
I thought he was a 4* - oh no, his ranking didnt go down because ISU and Baylor offered did it?>?

Re: Next Commitment?
If I had to bet I think Moss will go to Arkansas, but I would love to have him here. Hopefully Gene can get him here. I think Austin would be a great fit.

Re: Next Commitment?
I guess I am concerned that we haven't gotten a commitment from a real quality player yet. I would think that anyone who really wants to be a Cyclone would have commited by now. This means that no quality guys (rated or 4*) want to be a cyclone. If we get some they will be guys that really wanted to go somewhere else and we were their second or third choices. Not sure how many of those are left out there. Chizik is going to really have to pull off something impressive this year, or his "shine" will be tarnished and he will be just another guy who can't win at Iowa State. Hope I'm being unnecessarily pessimistic, but its really getting hard with the lack of action on the recruiting front.

Re: Next Commitment?
Well, Sed was a 4 star that committed on NLOI day.
I wouldn't be too worried.

Lichtenberg is a small-town Iowa kid who committed early to Iowa State, and he got 3 stars. I'd call that a real quality player.

It sounds like you're rationalizing to support your pessimism. As noted above, Sedrick Johnson decided well into signing day--I remember the drama. I'll also note that a good season this fall will help us with more highly rated recruits, who want to see tangible results on the field.
I have to admit that one of my (few, compard to most people) gripes with DMac was that he loaded up on borderline Iowa kids after his camps, which cut down on his fexibility once December rolled around. Since when is Bettendorf/Quad Cities a small town?!!!
