Do you want the guy doing the pregame cheers back?

Not sure what others think, but I prefer watching the warmups to having someone with a mike that's too loud leading cheers. Maybe everyone else loves it. I'd like other opinions.

i can do without him, i remember 2 years ago nebraska game, the nebraska fans aroun us were making fun of him. kind of embarassing. i think by now everyone knows the cheers and can do the "Cyclone Power" cheer on our own. and sometimes he does the cheers either faster or slower and messes everyone up.

Personally I like the guy. He is high energy and I thought he did a great job. I would bring him back. Who cares what opposing fans say. That isn't what he is there for.

Anyway, the first year he did that, he was on the field about 10 minutes. Last year it was down to 5 or less. I'll be surprised if we see him much from this point on because they do know that we know the cheers.

BTW, actually hearing "Cyclone Power" catch on and being used during the game was amazing.

I like him too, but he can be kind of a butthead in person at 3AM when you're working.

Glad someone beat me to it... get it right people. I can't remember names for **** and I know it's Jeff Johnson, president of the Alumni Association that lead the cheers.


As for do I want him doing it? No. If I showed up at another school and saw that I'd never let them hear the end of it. I mean maybe have him come out and give a pregame speech about how we're going to pound the oppents into the ground and then have him start a cheer and leave when the crowd has picked it up maybe, but I'm still not sure I'd want that.


Besides, he tries to control the rythm of the cheers, and he's usually a bit slow compared to how the crowd is trying to do it.


As for Cyclone Power, now that people are familliar with it (having succesfully stolen it from other teams...) I don't think we need him to lead it. All we need are the cheerleaders to leave their signs where this idiot can get to them

In any case, I'm with 62. The first year of having him on the field was really, REALLY awkward. I think the big part of it was that the cheers they tried to get going kind of sucked. I mean...

I do love that Cyclone Power has caught on. I also think that I-S-U will be a LOT easier once the south endzone is bowled in. The one thing I would love to hear is akin to what Virginia Tech does:
