Nope. Mostly like some mentioned earlier -- go visit with others, check out other games on radio or someone's TV, get something to eat that doesn't cost the equivalent of a week's pay, etc. And, they always come back to the game. I've done it a time or two as well. It's nothing negative against the band or the team. Heck, I've donated money to the band.

The rule does kind of suck, we park in the RV lot just east of JTS, so its only a short walk.
Catching up on other scores on tv was just as important as having another cold one.

Good point on catching up on scores. The score boards in the stadium are usually an hour and a half behind and they seem to ignore many important games. With all the game trackers on the internet they could easily do much better.

A little radio, a cell phone with a data plan, perhaps??? We have the technology to solve the scoring update problem...

Throw that in a pocket, and you're good to go. You can even use it to tune into the ISU feed if you couldn't figure out what happened on the field. Heck, I have one on me at games, and I have to wear a band uniform! It's definitely been nice to have, and they're really, really cheap.

That being said I am good with being packed at the start of the 3rd. Even the Oklahoma game last year was lacking of fans in the stands at the start of the 2nd half. That was a great game to have as many fans as we could!

Hey, at least we're always up to date on the game that Maine is playing in.

Here's a "win-win" idea: Let people leave during halftime, but in order to get back in, they have to run the "gauntlet". This way, only committed fans get to go out during halftime, and fans get to work out their frustration if the game is not going well....

I agree and disagree with the new re-entry rule. I understand they are implementing it in hopes that our stands will be full after half-time. IMO our program is stuck between a rock and a hard place right now with a lot of new rules and attempts to get our fans more involved. Some of them are not working so well and some have worked wonders. It would be nice in the future if our program could get to the point where this rule can be dropped and our fans can leave at half-time but still WANT to get back before the 2nd half starts.

This is on Cyclones.com. Not sure if it's been updated for 2008 but with football a little over a month away, you'd think it would be updated if this information was incorrect. Re-Entry Policy Patrons must have a ticket stub and their hand stamped (received upon exit) for re-entry into the stadium. Re-entry will be allowed only at gates 2 and 4. Re-entry will not be allowed before kickoff or after the start of the 4th quarter.

This is never going to happen. The re-entry issue isn't about getting people in their seats by the start of the 2nd half, that is just a side effect. The reason for the rule is security. After the bombing incident at OU a couple years back, stadiums across the country have stopped allowing re-entry.
The only reason it exists at ISU today is because of the bathroom shortage. When JTS renovations are complete this will no longer be an issue and re-entry at JTS will be history, and I don' think it will ever come back.

Agreed, somehow even though I remember now that it is mentioned earlier in this thread I somehow completely forgot about the bombing incident.
