2008 Re-entry to JT if you leave at halftime

Is it the official AD's policy for the 2008 football season, that if you leave the stadium at halftime(or earlier), that you cannot reenter?

Yes.

No reentry now that there are more restrooms.

So glad that they finally implemented this.

Hopefully this wont encourage students to leave... and not come back.

If you have to leave for a drink at halftime... do what everyone else does and sneak in a flask or something. Seems like the people that leave at halftime most often doent get back to their seats til halfway through the 3rd qtr.

Glad to see there will be no re-entry; I've never had a need to head out to the lots during halftime.

Exactly why I'm happy they have implemented this rule. I'm tired of seeing a half-full stadium for the first 8 minutes of the third quarter. We need the crowd there to try to get some momentum right out of halftime.

Exactly... a beer in your pocket works just as good.

I'm more a fan of the airline size bottles to put in my coke. I've seen too many people carted out because of beer cans.

My avatar is a pic I took from my phone camera at the spring game. Gotta love Cy on a bike.

Re: 2008 Re-entry to JT if you leave at halftime

I wonder what the Athletic Department would want to have more control over: people leaving at half, or people bringing alcohol in to the stadium.

If "management" thought that people were leaving to use potties then they thought wrong.

I left at half to:
  • Watch other games
  • Drink beer because I can't buy it in the stadium
  • Eat chips and Kramer's salsa

If they sold beer in the game this would be a non-issue. Alcohol is allowed in the suites, but not with the lay-folk. I think there should be some careful reconsideration about allowing beer sales in the games for the average season ticket holder as well as the affluent donor.

I believe since the venue is on the college campus and is owned by the school, they aren't allowed to sell beer per ncaa rules.

Do they serve beer in the 'box seats'?

There is no NCAA rule prohibiting sales of beer. They have jurisdiction only over championship events like the Basketball Tournament or the Frozen Four.
