Register: Cornhuskers Seeing Red (Against ISU)

I made the comment that if Iowa State can win a few games early – against the likes of South Dakota State, Kent State and so on – it might make an Oct. 18 visit by the Cornhuskers more palatable.
Now keep in mind, I didn’t say the Cyclones would win. I just indicated that ISU would have a little momentum going into the second-half of the season.
People in the heart of Big Red Country seem a little put off when you mention Nebraska as one of Iowa State’s more manageable games.
What do you think?
Would you rather host Kansas, coming off a 12-1 season?
North Division favorite Missouri?
Even Texas A&M has enough offensive talent to keep Chizik up at night.
How about road trips to Oklahoma State and Colorado?
This isn’t a knock on the Cornhuskers. It’s just reality in the Big 12.
How would you rank ISU’s upcoming opponents? Go read the comments (and defend ISU, if you deem it necessary). It's quite an... education.
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Register: Cornhuskers Seeing Red (Against ISU)
I live in Omaha and coworker asked if he could tag along with me to the ISU-Nebraska game this year.
That sparked up a conversation on the game and I was asked how I thought the game would be. I told everyone that I honestly thought it would be a 50-50 crap shoot on who won. The majority of the Husker fans agreed with me. Not all of them have quite the Husker blinders that some of these posters have.

memo to NU fan. Lets play the game and then you can run your mouth. I have a feeling things may change come gameday postgame.

Re: Register: Cornhuskers Seeing Red (Against ISU)
Nebraska fans are notoriously delusional. I guess at least they have some basis for delusion (in comparison to iowa fans). I actually think that nebraska should be one of ISU's easier conference games...slightly tougher than KSU and Baylor.

But what about Tom Osborn declaring himself supreme chancellor of the corn? That fact alone should allow them to roll up ISU. -

Nebraska fans are actually some of the best if you ask me, at least the ones in Nebraska. The ones that hang out of message boards and in other parts of the country are the ones that make discussion with them impossible.

I have met 2 decent kNebraska fans, so they do exist.

Just like any fanbase, there are a good chunk of the delusional crazies around. Some of my favorites are the people wearing the "Order Restored" t-shirts around. What exactly they are basing this restoration off of, I am not sure.

Re: Register: Cornhuskers Seeing Red (Against ISU)
If we beat NU, which I suspect that we will, I would like to think that would bring NU fans back to earth for a while. However as you all know NU fans are about as bad as they get when it comes to feeling entitled to national championships every year.

Apparently they need a new t-shirt commemorating last year's debacle.

I agree that there are more good than bad Husker fans. We made the trip to Lincoln in '05 and tailgated around Husker fans. Had a great time with 'em. They borrowed some space on our grill, we drank shots of peppermint schnapps out the rear of their inflatable sheep.
