Bates is the better scrambler, by far. He is an athletic freak. Arnaud is more of a true pocket passer, we think.

Bates very well could be, but he's taken like 5 snaps as a college QB - if that.

Yeah we have been TOLD that Bates is the better scrambler but none of us really know for sure. If you are an outsider and look at stats than you would say Arnaud as he has more yards rushing, but us ISU fans know the whole story behind that.

We have two new qb's so we'll just have to wait and see how they do when the bullets are live. But I will say that most of us are very optimistic.

An interesting note about Bates. Everybody seems to focus on his scrambling ability - and rightfully so from the little I've seen and the ton I've read. However, his senior year in HS he rushed for 517 yards and passed for 1,741.
All I know is that I saw him up close at the spring scrimmage and the guy is an absolute specimen. Arnaud was also a much better athlete than I had been giving him credit for.

The spread offense that Florida runs is the closet thing to the Single Wing that will get run in college. Having the QB/Spin back spin would get him killed with the athletes that are in college to.

If not...
