What is your opinion?
I am just wondering.. of all the current Cyclones, who do you think may have a shot at playing in the NFL? I think we have some DBs who may have a shot. James Smith, Allen Bell, Chris Singleton... How about Jesse Smith? I think Marquis Hamilton and RJ Sumrall may have a shot. We have too many RBs who will probably share playing time, so none of them will put up huge numbers I am guessing. I think TE Derrick Catlett will be one of the biggest suprises of the year. He is gonna prove himself to be a great receiving TE... What do you guys think?

I'm not saying any of our guys have NFL talent, but there are numerous instances of multiple RB's from the same school going in the draft-usually from Texas, Auburn, Florida, etc

Re: What is your opinion?
I wouldn't say Blythe was the best receiver we've ever had. He was good, but not the best.

I think that Marquis Hamilton might have a better shot than Blythe, and of course Singleton and Bell. But some of the more intriguing athletes who would be "NFL prospects" are entirely unproven--Chris Lyle, Collin Franklin, Michael Tate, Cameron Bell, Jerrod Black, Keleche Osemele (and give Trey Baysinger and Ben Lamaak three or four more years to improve), and most especially Austen Arnaud. And that doesn't even mention the true frosh like Sedrick Johnson and Scott Haughton. And I'm hardly listing everyone...who knows how, say, Derron Montgomery will look at safety, or Austin Alburtis at tackle?
One thing that NFL GM's and coaches are decidedly looking for is "measurables"...and that's all the things that Jesse Smith doesn't have. His "speed"...or lack thereof...is also a serious limitation.

Re: What is your opinion?
I would put Bo Williams in the mix. I was very impressed with him at spring ball, and him and A-Rob are the only backs returning next year. Obviously, a long way out, but I like what I saw at the spring game.

That team didn't have a "main receiver." They didn't need one.
How good were they? All three had pro careers.

Re: What is your opinion?
Allen bell looks like he can be a first round draft pick easily. He runs a 4.38 forty he's 6'1. He is big playmaker. I'm just glad he has 2 more years at Iowa state

2) Lane Danielson (sp?) was pretty good.

Re: What is your opinion?
Tracy Henderson was the best WR I personally saw playing for ISU. He was drafted in the 5th round in '85 by the Giants - from a 2 win team. I'm thinking he only played two years for the clones but don't remember for sure.

Re: What is your opinion?
This is a tough call - no one stands out immediately. Which is good and bad. If Summeral has a breakout year he'll get some looks. Singleton has the ability as well.

Jason Berryman ... oh wait!
